The usual assumption is that if you include GPL code the whole application has to become GPL, so then you need to find ways to install, present and offer to others the GPL code separately from your own proprietary code.

Re: Audiobook Recording- Punch and Roll with 2.0
Do either of you know if punch-in is a feature that is in development? There are 45 votes for this feature on the Feature Request page http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Feature_Requests . I can't comment on whether this will ever be developed: there are many technical hurdles to overcome. Also ther...

Re: is this a proper forum to look for audio programmers?
If you want to create robot voices I'm sure there are lots of libraries you can find that do that. As far as I know none of the Audacity developers have extensive experience in OpenAL which you say is mandatory in your job description. And even if they had such experience, generally developers will ...

If you want to use Audacity with Google translate, it can't be done.

Re: cannot record or open a file
It sounds as if the Audacity temporary directory is set to start with "" which is not valid on Windows (or has some other invalid path). Please follow the instructions here to see if this is the problem: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=64897#p176786 . If this was the...

Re: Export WAV in chain changes bit rate
Thanks for your response, Steve. I need to export 8 bit mono ulaw wav files en masse. I can do this one by one using Export, but I would really rather use the Chain functionality, since I have over 200 files to process. Assuming you are on Windows, I sent you the link to the old 1.3.14 alpha build ...

Re: Submit your EQ Curves
Try googling AES and see how many pages you get. Anyway, I had no idea that the new Audacity would go with a bunch of what I can only refer to as "novelty" curves and delete the one I needed. I already gave you instructions how to get the old 1.2 curves back including AES. Download the at...

Re: envelope tool
Do you mean how to make Envelope Tool add the same envelope points to both left channels at the same time? It cannot, unless you trick it by moving the left channel of the second track up (so that is underneath the left channel of the first track) then "Make Stereo Track" on the first trac...

Re: save folder question
Audacity does remember, across a stop-start, the directory that you last saved into. Therefore the information is stored somewhere. My guess would be in the Windows Registry. No, to the best of my knowledge the project save directory is stored internally by the application every time a project is s...
