Re: ALL the audio suddenly disappearing!
Supposing you select a bit of the track and Effect > Amplify (use the default values). Does the waveform reappear at a listenable volume, or does the waveform disappear and a flat line appear in its place instead? If a flat line, Audacity cannot consistently read the drive the files are on. In that ...

Re: AUDACITY 1.3 BETA (UNICODE) ~ CANNOT REOPEN PROJECT
The project rate (the box bottom left of the Audacity screen that determines the sample rate) seems to be key. The higher the rate, the less total length of audio (counting up the combined length of all the tracks) that you can have. 44100 Hz is a safe default (audio CD quality) and will allow you 1...

Re: possible skipping on recording
I am using Audacity 2.x on Windows Vista. Installed from .exe installer. On making a voice recording in stereo I noted the red volume recording bars sometimes come to a complete stop, while the recording voice is continuing. Then, they will suddenly resume and the recording blue bar sort of jumps i...

Re: cant install onto my mac
ok, because this is still not really working, Ive deleted audacity and then re downloaded it. That doesn't help, because Audacity will still try to load Audio Unit and VST plug-ins. We need to stop Audacity loading them so we can discount them as the source of the problem. So please open Finder, us...

Re: Squealing/whining sound when recording
I would try turning off first TeamSpeak only, then Skype only to see if that gets you anywhere. I know you want to use those apps of course.
Do you have another mic or headset to try? The quality doesn't matter for testing purposes.

Re: ALL the audio suddenly disappearing!
Basically, what happened was I saved all my work after working on it for a good 5-6 hours. It would have been a very good idea to have exported it as a WAV file so you have a backup. Always good practice. When I opened the .aup file the next day, all of my tracks were still there, but there was NO ...

Right-click over the mic > Properties and make sure on the "Listen" tab that "Listen to this Device" is unchecked.

Re: Can't find project data folder
I'm having this problem too! My _data and audio file are saved in the same location. I am on a Mac (Lion) What you need is the _data folder and .aup file to be in the same folder, and neither to have been renamed since you first saved the project. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Pro...

Re: Erreur de recuperation de projet suite au redemarrage du
Do you get that error when 1) the Automatic Crash Recovery dialogue appeared, or 2) were you trying to open the .aup file? You need to open the autosave file if the problem is automated crash recovery or otherwise open the .aup file, turn wordwrap off and look at line 9667 for malformed or unclosed ...

Re: cant install onto my mac
i looked in the activity monitor. seems normal but i guess i could shut down safari cause its the only thing using up any of my cpu. which is only 4%. not sure what to do What about the memory usage though? The error indicates (I think) that more memory is being used than can be addressed. Your att...
