Re: Audacity startup problem

Thanks for your reply. Have you ever used Audacity before on this computer? Could you also attach the full crash report (you can use "Upload attachment" underneath where you post messages). Meantime I would suggest force quitting Audacity then in Finder, use Go > Go to Folder then type in ...

Re: Audacity startup problem

I am having the same issue. I split this from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=64676&p=175823 (the topic you posted to). Even if the problem appears the same to you, it is best to start a new topic. Your crash report is not the same as that of the user in the other topic. ...

Re: Acoustic software development

David, Audacity is a team of loose-knit volunteers essentially, and only one of our developers regularly takes on contract work (subject to current workload). Two questions; 1. Is the larger program also open source? If not, the work may be less attractive to a developer and the open source code wou...

Re: Campaign: wxWidgets for Android

Thanks. Jim. I corrected one of the Cofundos links and removed the non-relevant links. We get asked every day if there is or will be an Audacity for mobile operating systems (of which Android is of course just one). Even if Widgets supported some mobile OS'es there would be a lot of work for Audacit...

Re: Not well formed error, fixed but still need help

Ok, I recently made a recording in audacity and added some mp3s into my project, the next time i opened it i got the message: "Error in line 10: not well formed" So naturally I opened it in notepad and found line 10 which had an unknown character (it was a tag on the mp3). So i removed th...

Re: ALL the audio suddenly disappearing!

There must have been some kind of problem that occurred during the save... It seems so. You could have been struck by this: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.0#Problems_reopening.2C_saving_or_crashing_in_projects . In this case, possibly some kind of corrupt saving of the project ...

Re: Load .wav file & flat line in Waveform display

I remember seeing that warning screen, but I must have turned it off. When checking in Edit > Preferences: Import / Export, I find that under When importing audio files, the radio button for Make a copy of uncompressed audio files before editing (safer) is highlighted. I believe that confirms I am ...

Just to add that from r11706 Audacity HEAD should now be building again on Linux.

Re: cant install onto my mac

So if you try to launch Audacity with audacity.cfg containing:

Code: Select all

NewPrefsInitialized=1
[AudioUnits]
Enable=0
GUI=0
[VST]
Enable=0
GUI=0
Rescan=0
as per the instructions at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audio ... ch_or_hang , does Audacity launch OK?
