Re: Audacity pausing and slowing

Audacity 2.0 is likely to be slower than 1.2 or early 1.3 with long or many tracks unless you have a very fast computer with a lot of memory (RAM). If you want to play music while using Firefox it is better to use Windows Media Player which plays the files without importing them into itself as uncom...

Re: Me or Audacity?

I assume we are talking about View > Mixer Board. If you have the Audacity window maximised, choose View > Mixer Board then press Play or otherwise click in the main Audacity window, then yes on Windows, Mac and Linux the Mixer Board will appear to "minimise" (it will be covered by the max...

Re: Load .wav file & flat line in Waveform display

Thanks, Ed. There is nothing in the log of concern - it only shows that you have not installed the optional LAME and FFmpeg libraries. I suppose a good test would have been to see if those CDex WAV files were audible in Windows Media Player. If it happens again, and the files are OK in other players...

Re: sounds move from left channel to right channel sporatica

Thanks. It sounds like the Intel audio controller is your sound device, then. I suggest you go here and enter your exact information to look for an audio driver. If HP do not offer an audio driver, ask on the Community Forum explaining to them that you only seem to have a Microsoft driver for the on...

Re: Unable to open lame or FFMpeg

2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xenon Mac OS-X 10.6.8 Audacity 2.0 I needed a fresh install of Audacity to custom export the sound track from a short video show. Audacity installed OK and seems to run, but can't find either the FFMpeg or Lame libraries, even though they're in the correct folders/directorie...

Re: Can't import MP3's - two additional notes

Forgot to mention that those MP3's do open/play correctly in other apps. But before I can edit them in Audacity, I have to convert them to another format. Also, I just tried to open, with Audacity, an MP3 generated by Audacity. Audacity paused, then quit. :( What happens if you use File > Import > ...

Re: Sound corruption in the latest build with ASIO

the issue is the same one I had before, in my original post I linked to my old thread (on 1.3.15) with White Christmas and Motown Christmas as the sample, so that's what it sounds like. So it's a problem with your recording hardware, right? That was the outcome of that original thread as far as I c...

Re: sounds move from left channel to right channel sporatica

As much as I can find, the sound card is intel(r) 82801 CA/CAM CA'97 audio controller. Provider is Microsoft. Date is 7/1/2001. Driver version is 5.1.2535.0. Digital signer is Microsoft Windows Publisher. What else do you need from me? If that is the inbuilt audio device, and the driver provider is...
