Re: Referencing Audacity 2 in an academic text.
Thanks, Steve. I'll have to ask my supervisor if I need to put the [R] registered trademark in the main text. That is mandatory from our point of view. This is OK for the start of your reference: Audacity Team (2012). Audacity(R) Version 2.0.0. The citation: Audacity(R) software is copyright (c) 199...

Re: sounds move from left channel to right channel sporatica
Would Audacity run without XP services packs, 1, 2, or 3? I would not recommend uninstalling Service Packs unless your current issues started directly following installation of SP3. Have you tried that System Restore yet? Have you considered other applications to record stereo mix? This one bypasse...

Re: Spitfish Audio Units plugin no workie [SOLVED]
On my Mac (OS X 10.7.3) if I open /Applications/Audacity/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity and right-click > Get Info, I see "Universal" for Audacity 2.0.0. But not if I open /Applications/Audacity/Audacity.app .

Re: Sound corruption in the latest build with ASIO
The quick overview is a HP Pavilion P7-1074 Desktop, AMD Phenom II 2.9Ghz, 8GB RAM, 1.5TB HDD, ATI 4200, 802.11n, W7HP. That should cope fine in principle. Have you asked emu if you have the latest, correct drivers for their card and asked for their opinion as to the cause? Are you able to correlat...

Re: listen, repeat & playback for language learning
This still doesn't do what I want, since I don't want to hear a mixture of the original and my imitation and I want to hear the original before my imitation, but not during my imitation. If you turn off Transport > Overdub that will (as I already explained) prevent you hearing the original while yo...

Re: Unable to open lame or FFMpeg
FFMpeg is a problem because it's not a single dylib. How do I deal with that? A good idea is to read the instructions at http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Installation_and_Plug-Ins#macff_zip . Extract the contents to a folder called "FFmpeg_v0.6.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX" anywhere you ha...

Re: Sound corruption in the latest build with ASIO
try the Al Green sample I think looking at your hardware and operating system (including all settings) would be more constructive, as per the questions I posed. Please also read the link I posted http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS#sample_rates . I can't even say it is a known issue with...

Re: Unable to open lame or FFMpeg
Otherwise, you will need the zips for LAME and/or FFmpeg from http://lame1.buanzo.com.ar/ and unpack the dylib files where you wish. Just for form. It says in the zip instructions that I am to follow the install instructions. What instructions? I don't know anywhere that it says to follow "ins...

Re: Hangs after every command
Hi there I am having more and more trouble with the application hanging every time I click something (Cut/paste/copy/add silence/record/stop/add track/delete track/etc). Often the the app just says not responding and then comes back. This session, I have spent more time waiting than editing this wo...

Re: Export WAV in chain changes bit rate
I am having the same problem converting a recording for our Mitel NuPoint Messaging system. Can you help figure out how to convert a file to a 8 bit U-Law? If you only want to convert one recording you don't need to use a chain. Use Audacity 2.0.0. Beta versions of Audacity before 1.3.13 did not ex...
