Re: Backing up and Archiving

I agree that there is already an entry inthe Wiki - and I agree that is is pretty thin (almost as much use as a chocolate fireguard). Have you seen what happens to a backed-up project if you do Windows copy and paste in the same folder? I do not like "Books 1-2" (or "3-4") when ...

...if I refer to the "Wiki" I mean http://wiki.audacityteam.org/... if I refer to the "Manual" I mean http://manual.audacityteam.org/... And therein lies the cause of all my frustration from mid-page 3 onwards! You folks are thoroughly familiar with the documentation of Audacity...

Re: Défaut d'enregistrement. No record

Non, hélas, la réponse ne m'a pas aidé.Sorry It didn't help me By the fact, I don't know how I should choose: - Audio host: MME? or Windows direct? - output device; Speakers realtek? or Sounds mappers? - Input device: Stereo mix? Re: Can't import MP3's

Thanks for the links. Sorry to repeat, but have you reset the Audacity preferences? It's important you do that. Quit or force quit Audacity, download the attached file then rename it to "audacity.cfg" (without quotes). In Finder, use Go > Go to Folder and type ~/Library/Application Support...

Re: i export a file to an MP3-i see it-then i can't find it!

The Desktop wouldn't overflow if you saved the MP3 files inside a folder residing on the Desktop. The Desktop is safe and non-confusing to find. If you prefer you can save in C:Users<your user name>My Music. If you have not changed any settings, that is the same location as "Libraries > Music&q...

Re: i export a file to an MP3-i see it-then i can't find it!

Is this your computer? If not, your computer administrator may impose restrictions on what you can do and see. If it is your computer, log on with your administrator account. Click the Windows globe and type "explorer" (without quotes). Then open Explorer and choose Organize > Folder and S...

Re: Error writing auto save file Auto Save File

If after reboot you open the troublesome project (or WAV file if you never saved a project) and the autosave error still occurs, please attach the log. I saw these autosave errors a lot on an older Windows 7 machine I used previously. It did not seem to be a hardware problem insofar as disk checks n...

@Peter (PGA), for future reference if I refer to the "Wiki" I mean http://wiki.audacityteam.org/. As you would have found out if you had clicked the link I provided in the first place. ;) If I refer to the "Manual" I mean http://manual.audacityteam.org/ (even though it is also a ...

Re: Applying chains to Flac keeps crashing Audacity

Audacity keeps crashing if I try to open any FLAC file. It does for you, but not for most other people, which is why we asked for an example file. Please download the two short 24-bit FLAC files from http://www.linnrecords.com/linn-downloads-testfiles.aspx . Do those crash Audacity 2.0.0 for you? T...

Re: OMG!!! HELP!!!

File was copied then tested then closed. Copied where? How? See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/File_Management_Tips#Making_a_backup_copy_of_a_project . The new file likes like a file folder and under two levels has a bunch of vcl files. Launch Audacity and choose File > Recent Files. Choose you...
