Re: Apply Chain used to run but not now
I saw mention of v 2.0.0 on the Audacity web site, but trying to download it I got directed to a place that offered just the 1.3.14 download, so I put off looking for 2.0.0. I suspect that was a problem with your web browser and/or the web site which means you would see old content until you refres...

Re: Does Audacity work with Line6 Podfarm plug in VST ?
"VST plug-ins need to be placed directly in Audacity's Plug-Ins folder in order for them to show up in the Effect menu. " A search of my harddrive for 'VST' returned Line6 podfarm VST in windows system folder that are just hex codes. The search also returned in C:/programme files/line6/po...

Re: Imported MP3 track from itunes is shorter in Audacity
When you imported the MP3 file into Audacity did you use File > Import > Audio, if so, what filter did you use (All files, MP3 files, FFmpeg-compatible files)? Was it iTunes where you played it all and it was 1 hour 20 minutes? Are you sure you have not set the start and end time in iTunes? This wou...

Re: Removing vibrato from old cassette tape recordings
Thanks for posting the thread links.
Interesting that the Winamp plug-in "Tape Restore Live" claims to have a filter approximating to Dolby B removal.

Re: Apply Chain used to run but not now
Audacity 1.3.14 beta (operating from a .dmg downloaded in 2011) Mac OSX 10.4 with all Apple updates, running on Mac G4 machine. Please note that the current version is 2.0.0: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . I knew that to use Apply Chain I must have an Audacity window open. The window must b...

Re: Lost important recording
... but the real problem is treating "cancelling a Timer Recording" rather literally that you really want to do that. This thread shows that the Cancel button in the Timer Record can be dangerous and non-intuitive for users. @Gale: Should I consider adding removal of the Cancel button to ...

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
We recently agreed that how complicated a plug-in appears to be is an important consideration, so here's a couple of screenshots. Does one of these look a lot more complicated than the other? Silence Finder will "look" more or less as simple (without attempting to read or understand) if t...

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements
Concerning "old manuals", there is probably some analogy between "Audio I/O" and "Devices" in a new user's mind, but not much between a Sound Finder and a Silence Finder which will naïvely be seen as opposites. The second point could possibly be resolved by calling the...
