Re: Lost important recording
Since (as you say) this is an "unattended recording" feature, it may be rare that people use or misuse "Stop" or "Cancel and that the "least coding" solution is to remove the Cancel button. Actually some of us use it while we are fully at the computer doing other ...

Re: Export and Export Multiple - "current location" option
Quite easily. For example if you imported a file from a CD-R or any other non-writable location. That makes sense. Well, I'm in favour of the preference option - better than no choice at all - but like I said, I think it's better to be able to choose one or the other at file saving time. The link I...

Re: Audacity Already Running
Brian, The only audio driver I could find for XPS 430 on the Dell site was http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/?c=us&s=dhs&cs=19&l=en which seems to be for a Creative Sound Blaster XFi card - is that what you are using, that is there is no built-in motherboard sound ...

Re: Contrast Analysis not Working
In the absence of a clearly defined standard I would suggest that the best option would be that, in the case of stereo tracks, the plug-in should measure the root of the average squared sample values (all selected samples). Probably, but if that is possible do we then retain the restriction on only...

Re: Export and Export Multiple - "current location" option
I added your vote. Thanks Gale I take it this has been discussed before. Sorry, I couldn't find it. Can you provide a link to it, please? That actual solution hasn't been discussed before (as far as I know), but there are lots of opinions and proposed solutions about where export and save project s...

Re: Help needed to set up Audacity 2 for recording web radio
I followed the instructions in [ural]http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=63588[/url] and created a /etc/asound.conf file. After reboot PulseAudio appeared as pulse in both input and output devices. However, the volume control for input is greyed out (set to max). That is by desig...

Re: resampling question.
Do I need to go through both steps or will just the change to the 'Project Rate' on export also resample the track to 44.1KHz in the same way as if I had gone through the 'Tools - Resample' process? You only need one of those steps. If you also do Tracks > Resample then the export is quicker becaus...

Re: Lost important recording
Perhaps there is an alternative approach? I don't use "Timer Recording" but from following this, and other, topics on the forum, I get the impression it is intended to be used for "unattended recording". That being the case, and assuming the recording has been set up correctly, ...

Re: Audacity Already Running
If you right-click over the speaker icon and Playback Devices and Recording Devices don't respond, your system is already pretty broken. Audacity is unlikely to play, let alone record in these circumstances if the sound device is actually the cause of the problem. Did this computer engineer reinstal...
