Re: Audaicity recording palying fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0

Thanks for the videos. What is the name and model number of the recording device that has stereo mix? Onboard audio or USB sound card? From your video of recording from YouTube, the recording cursor is travelling at about half speed, and playback cursor travelling at correct speed, with the obvious ...

Re: Problem with slight latency when making additional track

I did find a bug: when exiting the preferences window, the main window's labels at the top (edit, view, transport, tracks, generate, etc.) all disappeared! Only a part of the file button was left (fortunately) to click on, to open a new project. Thanks for letting us know however please see http://...

Re: print Audacity 2.0 manual

If you open the Manual in your web browser using Help > Manual (in web browser), this should give you options to zoom the document for printing using the File > Page Setup or File > Print Preview dialogues. But as pointed out, you can only print one page at a time.

Re: 14hour recording crashed before saving...

By the way I forgot to adjust the "h" value (the starting position of the waveform) in the half-track project. With it set at 433 seconds (12 hours or so) it will now be after the end of the audio. I suggest opening the .aup file in TextEdit then changing the "h" value near the t...

Re: 14hour recording crashed before saving...

What Bill may be suggesting is breaking the project down into chunks. Try opening "Temporality_05-26-12-track-1-only.aup" or "Temporality_05-26-12-track-1-first-half-only.aup" in the attached, which are the first track or the first half only of the first track. Try the complete f...

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

A lot hinges on my perception that new users will struggle both with sound regions and with the concept of splitting songs by labelling the songs. If you have songs separated by silence then it is easy to understand that you can split the songs by making a single chop in the silence. This is proved ...

Is "Label placement" better?
Yes +1. It matches with current Silence Finder and Regular Interval Labels.

Re: Sound Finder / Silence Finder improvements

I am not very clear why the first grouped label in your image doesn't end at about 2 mins. The first sound starts after few seconds. It is less than 2 minutes, so the next sound is added to the group. It is still less than 2 minutes so the next sound is added to the group. ... At the 2 minute mark ...

Re: Audacity Already Running

Brian, I'm glad Audacity is running. How about right-click over the speaker icon > Playback and Recording Devices? I don't know what inference to draw, except possibly that the heuristics Avast! employs to block viruses were getting tangled and needed a restart while Windows was running. Gale

Re: Sound/Silence Finder enhancements

If we did not have Silence Finder or Silence Marker, then what would be the design specification for this effect? Possibly Silence Finder without the bugs, that never put a label in a recognised sound due solely to label placement (as opposed to sound detection) issues. How often does it do that? P...
