Re: How to override secret import-setting?
Ok, I thought all the changes and effects you apply to a project are stored in the aup-file (like a realtime AviSynth-script). Guess I was wrong. Because of 32-bit float I expected it to be a bit larger in size, but now that you mention all the undo-information is stored in those au-files as well, ...

Re: Audaicity recording playing fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
Since you seem to be saying 1.3 versions have the same problem, it could be that the Sabrent is one of those few PCI cards that for some reason are not fully compatible with Audacity. If you wanted to you could still try Windows Sound Recorder. Like Audacity, it can only record computer playback if ...

Re: Rule for Shift+Up/Down Arrow toggling Select
I was answering at the same time as Bill, so I am going to let my reply stand and make one comment. Holding Shift down and moving the focus up or down with an arrow key appears to copy the selected status from the currently focused track to the next focused track, but may or may not first toggle the...

Re: 14hour recording crashed before saving...
There seems a difference between the two first-half-only images for 1.3.6 at about an hour and at the end. Are there supposed to be long silences either side of the hour mark? Did you press OK when you saw "Faulty Sequence Tags" in 2.0.0? If so, it's odd the log has no more details. You ca...

Re: 14hour recording crashed before saving...
I successfully replaced the "h" value in the Audacity1.3.6_track-1-first-half-only .aup. ... Is the .cfg file the same as the .aup? Either way, I opened and edited the .aup file in TextEdit. Yes sorry, the ".cfg" was my mistake, which I've corrected now in my post. The .aup file...

Re: Audaicity recording palying fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
Are you sure those two "Exclusive Mode" boxes in Windows "Sound" are checked? Have you rebooted the computer, not just come out of sleep or hibernation? Other than that, I suggest process of elimination. Do older versions of Audacity have the same problem? How about 1.3.12 (http:...

Re: Using USB external sound device @ 48kHz
Windows Vista. I set the Windows recording settings at 48kHZ, 16 bit; 24 bit not being available there. The reset problem is fixed; tanks for that, but... Still no input to hear or see at Audacity. Can you choose between WDM and ASIO in that EMU Control Panel? Audacity as shipped does not support A...

Re: Using USB external sound device @ 48kHz
I've never seen supported rates listed for inputs on Windows (XP, Vista or 7) since Audio Device Info came in with 1.3.4. Have you?steve wrote:I've asked for a second opinion on this as I don't use Vista myself.

Re: Audaicity recording palying fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
We can see exactly what is happening - the recording is not keeping up with the audio so there are lots of bits missing. On playback, because about half of the audio is missing, playback gets through the remainder in about half the time. Yes you must be correct, because the recorded and played back...
