Re: Yet another unable to record
I tried that, too and it didn't work. I ultimately found out that the version of Windows 7 that's loaded on my new computer (Professional, Service Pack 1) does not support "Stereo Mix," rendering Audacity (and Adobe Audition as well) useless for recording -- and I'm not willing to downgra...

Re: Help in other languages
What I still find a bit strange is that the An introduction to KDE front page always first appears in English with a German navigation bar, but the text of the page only appears in German after I have clicked on the "German" translation link at the top of the page. But if I click on one o...

If we decided to ban you then we would do it by your username and e-mail address.Buggie wrote: Admins please do not ban shared accounts, unless they are repeat offenders. Some of us lazy people appreciate them unless you setup your forum to accept OpenID etc.

Re: Audacity 2 won't install
Having got nowhere with Audacity 1.3 I'm trying, as recommended, to install Audacity 2 on a Mepis 11 machine (Uses Debian). In that case please post in the correct GNU'Linux help board instead of "General Feedback and Discussion". Moved. I downloaded Audacitry 2 OK from sourceforge (as Au...

Re: no input displayed
Ion have always been vague about whether they supported Windows Vista and 7 or not, but they do, and whatever the version of Windows their devices should work once you plug-them into the computer. Please try the steps 1 to 5 here http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntables#Turntable_not_recogni...

Re: volume automatically drops while recording
I dont use skype or any program like that. So what should I do to be able to record? I have the amp plugged in from the record out into the 1/8 jack thats next to the headphone jack on my laptop. Which as Koz says, is probably the problem. You said "the input jack" of the laptop. If there...

Re: Difficulty using Rode Podcaster mic
I can't attach one cause they run generally about 5-6MB and it seems the size of attachments is limited to 1MB if I read the rules correctly. True, but if you re-read http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 it lists free file transfer services at the bottom of the page. You can...

Re: Another unable to record
Thanks Koz, I have a desktop machine, so thought it would loop ok, but does not want to do so. Running windows7. I have never had trouble with Audacity on XP on several machines, so much for progress. Where can I get total recorder? If you read all of the link Koz gave ( http://manual.audacityteam....

Re: Another unable to record
Microsoft improves the stability and reliability of corporate communications and conferencing by leaving Stereo-Mix out. Once again, Koz, please stop saying that. It isn't true. What is true that many new Windows machines lack stereo mix. It is not Microsoft but the computer, motherboard or motherb...

Re: Audaicity recording playing fast Win7x64/Audacity 2.0
Bart, It is difficult to draw any conclusions here. Clearly if the Realtek device did not play, something is not right. Have you been to the motherboard manufacturer's site to obtain Windows 7 64-bit audio drivers for that motherboard? It would be good for you to experiment with that cable to see if...
