Re: snare effect help

Hi Steve, thanks for you reply, but I'm having trouble with that file type. I can download and save it to a folder but cant locate it, even if I save it as 'all files'.. Find it in Windows Explorer then drag it with your mouse into the Audacity window. If you have lost or deleted it, download it ag...

Re: Sample Printer

if I have e.g 19.65 seconds of audio at 44100 Hz I really don't want to start making those calculations to ensure I get the entire selection. Assuming that the tracks are the same sample rate as the project rate, look in the Selection Toolbar. Yes a reasonable workaround (but assuming it is already...

Re: Enhancements to Frequency Analysis

I agree with Steve - On Win 7, Ubuntu 12.04 and OS X 10.7.3 I cannot reproduce the bug in linear Spectrogram, only in log f. My mistake. Just tried it again on XP laptop and it only happens with log scale. I opened a bug for it http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=525 . Thanks fo...

Re: M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R OR New Behringer Firepower 1

M-Audio devices usually record multiple channels into Audacity as shipped if you use older M-Audio drivers. This is therefore not expected to work on Windows 7. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multichannel_Recording#Suggested_devices . I don't know in what sense 1616 is designed to run on 2.0,...

Re: Problem recording Microphone in Stereo

I was originally trying to record a game's footage with FRAPS and include my microphone commentary with that, but FRAPS recorded either the in-game Sound or the Microphone, so i thought i could record my Microphone with Audacity while FRAPS is recording Game Footage and Ingame Sounds. When i tried ...

Re: Enhancements to Frequency Analysis

Test: 1-Generate 10s 1kHz sine 0.1 amplitude. 2-Select Spectrogram (lin or log, doesn't matter) in the TCP. The line shows up around 350 Hz! 3-Expand the vertical scale (click in the scale). The line jumps to 1000 Hz. I tried this on both XP and Vista, same result. I agree with Steve - On Win 7, Ub...

Re: Enhancements to Frequency Analysis

On my Vista machine, I can adjust the horizontal size of the plot window and it's refreshed as I'm dragging the edge. On my XP laptop it doesn't refresh until I release the mouse button. This is a Windows setting. Refresh on drag also works for me on Ubuntu 12.04 or OS X 10.7.3 (default settings). ...

Re: Enhancements to Frequency Analysis

I was aware what you were talking about, which was why I said "I am not a Plot Spectrum expert"... Sorry, I'd completely missed the point you were making there. Not everyone finds it intuitive that the Meter/Waveform (dB) range affects the minimum Plot Spectrum amplitude. Would you like t...
