Re: Losing Audio Tag information upon exporting
I appreciate your reply; however, your explanation does not explain how to retain the beats-per-minutes and band information from disappearing in Windows Explorer. I have explained in detail what happens with the Beats Per Minute field. The best answer as things are now is not to use Windows Explor...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Are we anywhere near completing this and lobbying for it to replace "Cross Fade In" and "Cross Fade Out"?
And this can still be used to cross-fade between two tracks, or am I wrong?

Re: Losing Audio Tag information upon exporting
Audacity doesn't remove those tags, as you will see if you quit Audacity then re-import the exported file. Have you perhaps updated the version of Windows? 1.2.6 and 2.0.0 both write the "TPE1" frame for "Artist Name" (as it is called in the Audacity Metadata Editor). The ID3 sta...

Re: Print Audacity 2.0 Manual
How do I print, (on paper so that I can put it in a binder and sit down and read EVERYTHING that it can do whether some [expletive - removed] thinks that I need to or not), a copy of the Audacity 2.0 Manual. I suspect that I can't. Please do not show your ignorance by telling me how to do what I do...

Re: Enhancements to Frequency Analysis
Thanks, DickN. I added your votes and comments. There are several ideas on the page and linked pages that would be off-topic here which I'd like to vote for, and one I'd like to add onto. I read the instructions but can't find the "edit" links. Is editing allowed by just anybody? I'll have...

Re: Sample Printer
People who want a csv list probably really don't want any interpolations. The same may well be true for people that want a plain list with no header. I'm inclined to change: NO HEADER: Prints only the optional header text (leave blank for none) followed by the sample data. To: NO HEADER: Prints onl...

Re: vst scanning - basic question
I'm using XP Home SP3 fully updated, and installed Audacity 2.0 from the .exe setup file. I was also experiencing this "Scanning VST Plugings" every time I started Audacity 2. ...I don't know if canceling "Scanning VST Plugins" leads to any problems once Audacity starts. It won'...

Re: to create a multi channel wav file
In addition to Steve's reply, what effect you are trying to achieve? Audacity can create multi-channel files but can only play them in stereo. Do you have a sound card that has multiple output channels? What you are describing is three separate stereo files (channel 1, channel 2). Multi-channel file...
