Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
In My Opinion, you should trash Audacity 2 and install one of the earlier Audacity versions. I think I was happy with Audacity 1.3.13 or 1.3.14 before I finally did the global update to push my machines to 2. In the overall scheme of things, Audacity 2 is very new and we may not have found all the ...

Re: MP3 Export Options for Absolute Best Sound Quality not c
The absolute best is the highest bitrate. That also gives you the biggest files. Koz Maybe I misread, or are you conveying: "The absolute best is the highest bitrate that also gives you the biggest files" (One sentence)? Which would be the preset "Insane"? right?, which is the s...

Re: Music Export Problem
Are you exporting the Audacity MP3 from what you recorded into Audacity, or from a file you previously made from such a recording? What is the source of the music you are trying to convert to MP3 in another program?

Re: compile failed in debian squeeze x64
0.8.x should compile. The 0.8 version current when 2.0.0 was released in March compiled with Audacity.

Re: Resonant Filter
A resonant filter is a special case of high, low or bandpass filter where the Q is "too high" so that it causes ringing at fc. For a bandpass filter to ring at a singe frequency (fc), then the "upper" and "lower" filter frequencies must be the same (otherwise there wil...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
We had device manager look for updated drivers on the machine and on the Net. It said we had the most up-to-date driver available. It also gave no opportunity to roll back the driver (grayed out) Who was the driver provider? If it was Microsoft, they are the wrong drivers, not matched to your mothe...

Re: Burned CD contains only half the track
How are you converting the files in the digital recorder before you import them into Audacity - what format are those files in? Does RecordNow see those files as half length before you use Audacity? Can you not use Windows Media Player or iTunes to burn the files that originate from the digital reco...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
but it is what the user asked for (and you get the same problem with "Limited Duration" if your duration is more than than half the selection, or the selection is unbalanced enough between the two songs). The difference is that if there is a dedicated option for "Half Selection"...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
We then followed advice I found on another site and deleted all references to Audacity in the registry. (That suggestion had been provided in response to someone having a problem similar to ours.) Following all this, we rebooted and re-installed the program. Again, no sound Hardly surprising since ...

Re: Resonant Filter
What is a bandpass resonant filter if not a resonant filter that rolls of below and above the resonant peak? A bandpass filter normally passes frequencies between a range. There is no range control. I do vaguely understand that you can create a bandpass filter by combining low pass and high pass, b...
