Re: Recording iPhone 4 Voicemail Greeting

Were you still choosing the microphone input in Audacity's Device Toolbar when you tried before with the headset microphone? If so and the quality was not good enough, you have two choices. One is to play the message on the iPhone and record it into Audacity. You will need a suitable cable to connec...

Re: Using the Metadata Editor

Metadata you enter yourself in Audacity should be saved in the project but some may be lost when exporting depending on the audio format. Some exported metadata may not be visible in all other applications. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/metadata_editor.html . Please provide a sp...

Re: Concatenating with fading and mixing

UPDATE: I found out why I could not get the Timeshift tool to work for me. Somehow (and I did not set this feature on) Sync Lock tracks was checked by default. It really isn't enabled by default, but you can in fact see it's on in your image (the clock symbol to right of the volume sliders). Gale

Re: Lost important recording

Just to update this, the "Cancel" button has been removed from the progress dialogue while the recording is taking place, in recognition of the risk. The keyboard escape key now does the same as "Stop" (stops the recording and leaves the recording on screen). Use the window Close...

A good place to start is the Frequently Asked Questions .

If you are still stuck after that, tell us where in the instructions it is going wrong.

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci

I've actually come here looking for a solution to an identical problem!! The only difference being my O.S. is Windows Vista. Please give us the content of Help > Audio Device Info from the Audacity menu bar and an image of what you see when you go to Sound in the Windows Control Panel and click the...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci

We're wondering if we should try installing the previous version of Audacity. Will be grateful for any more ideas! You can always try 1.3.12 or even 1.2.6 from http://code.google.com/p/audacity/downloads/list?can=4 . 1.3.12 may have more bugs than 1.2.6. You can let us know if it makes any differen...

Is the bug with Mac or Audacity? Audacity intends to turn the system volume down.

Re: Delay

Another observable problem with Nyquist pitch shift is that it seems to cause the resultant delay time to be longer than that entered in the effect.

Re: Normalise Bug in Chain?[SOLVED]

This should be fixed in 2.0.1. The problem turned out to be that Normalize was not waiting for On-Demand Loading to complete computing the waveform before starting its analysis.
