Thanks, I added your votes. The request also suggests showing amplitude in the Status Bar at the bottom, instead of a tooltip, but I assume you would both prefer tooltips. No need to answer unless you prefer the Status Bar.

Re: [help] Fix a Mp3 File! I beg you guys!
If Audacity cannot import it, upload it to a free file transfer service like http://minus.com/ or https://castle.so/ and give us the web address where we can download it.

Re: Audacity missin tagged information artist name
It's a limitation in that version of FFmpeg - I noted it here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/FFmpe ... ctionality .
You could add the artist name as a comment. I don't know any other workaround.

Re: Using keyboard shurtcuts when Audacity is in background
No Audacity doesn't support "global shortcuts" that operate in any program. I'll add your vote. You may be able to use a program like AutoHotkey to do what you want.

Re: 24bit file selection output coming out as 16bit
Audacity on Windows can't record at greater than 16-bit resolution. Use the "Options" button when exporting FLAC to export 24-bit FLAC. Use the "Options" button and choose "Other uncompressed files" to export as 24-bit WAV. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/file_...

Re: effects menu greyed out
This seems to be the answer to all of the posts - that you have to select the audio first. I know this and I am selecting the audio but I still can't click on the effects - they are all gray-shaded. Are there any other ideas? Press the yellow Stop button. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa...

Re: mp3 export makes file longer?!
I opened an mp3 file, cropped a few minutes silence from the end and beginning and exported it. The exported version is 8MB longer?? Because the MP3 bit rate you exported at is higher than the rate of the original MP3. Click "Options" when you export MP3 to choose the bit rate. Reduce the...

Re: Any way to finely position envelope?[SOLVED]
One request that is made quite often is that the envelope tool should have hover tooltips for amplitude value when you drag the envelope point. Please say if you want to vote for that or some other solution. How do I mark this thread as solved? You can edit the subject of your own posts, but I've do...

Is there any reason not to publish this on http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Downl ... t_Plug-ins ? I thought we have most limitations covered in the Help screens?

Re: Audacity et Skype
This is just a cut-and-paste answer, because no-one else has answered for some reason. I am not a Linux guru. Can you explain why you want to use the microphone in Skype and Audacity at the same time then we may be able to help you better. Audacity can use the pulse device under ALSA host (look in A...
