Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
@otwo_pipes, all images in the Manual show default settings unless otherwise stated. I'll add your vote for some way to reset to the Audacity defaults from within the Audacity Preferences. At the moment, reset is done by editing the audacity.cfg settings file (see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/ma...

Re: Losing Audio Tag information upon exporting
For the sake of completeness I raised a bug about this at http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541, suggesting that Album Artist, BPM and Composer become default tags, so they will not then have their frame changed when exported. This will prevent the problem occurring with iTunes and Wi...

Re: Can't open tracks with right-click in 2.0.x
The simplest answer is often to rename the 2.0.x "audacity.exe" to something else such as "audacity 2.0.1.exe", then you will be able to add it to Open with. But you will need to repeat that rename with each new Audacity release. Or uninstall 1.3, download CCleaner ( http://www.p...

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
I don't see a problem with -12% in itself.
How long is the track? Have you enabled "Audio Cache" in the Directories Preferences? If so, please uncheck it.
If the problem persists, please also say if you have 64-bit or 32-bit Windows.

Re: MoblePre W/Audacity - Two inputs at once PLS HELP
You asked this question nearly two months ago. Did you look at the answer at http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=179716#p179716 ? In other words, set Audacity to record in stereo then use the Track Drop-Down Menu and choose Split Stereo to Mono . Then you can use the L....R pan slider on t...

Re: Paste audio at end of soundtrack
The 2.0.behaviour is better for people who want to paste exactly where they put the cursor after the end of the audio. This then gives them a separate clip with a space between the previous end of the audio and the paste. For what you want to do you can place the cursor anywhere after the end of the...

Re: Installing new version
When you install 2.0.1 you should be offered the same directory to which you installed 2.0.0. This should be "Program FilesAudacity" (or "Program Files (x86)Audacity"if you are on 64-bit XP), but in any case if you do not change the installation directory that is offered, Audacit...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
@otwo_pipes, so did you have "Audio Cache" enabled on the XP system where you don't receive the crash? Audio Cache is not on by default. Note that caching applies to editing as well (though I think there should be an option for it to apply only to recording). 96000 Hz, 24-bit recording tak...

Re: Any way to finely position envelope?[SOLVED]
That background colour problem only occurs with click-to-see-value tooltips on specific classes of slider. It should not affect the type of tooltip proposed for the envelope point.
