Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
@mdubin, Here is a build of our current 2.0.2-alpha that goes back to using memcpy for memory functions (we had changed to memmove to fix quality problem with Sliding Time Scale on 64-bit Linux): http://gaclrecords.org.uk/bugs/audacity%202.0.2-revert-mcpy-to-mmove.zip Make sure other versions of Aud...

Re: Zennox USB record deck
Click the Windows globe bottom left of the computer screen. Type "sound recorder" (without quotes). Double-click Sound Recorder when it appears in the list. Turn the turntable on and make sure it is connected to the computer and playing a record. Press "Start recording" in Sound ...

Re: no plug-ins in menus
OK, just deleted the older version of Audacity, and installed newer version 2.0.1 as instructed, Message pops up on opening "critical Nyquist files cannot be found. Nyquist applications will not work". Any ideas? Someone else reported this in 2.0.1 on Mac a few days ago, but I never heard...

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
@mdubin - how much installed RAM do you have and what is the computer speed? I can't get any crashes on Win 7 x64 or Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit. It seems one of two things could be responsible 1) the quality improvements 2) the change from memcpy to memmove. I somewhat doubt that 2) is responsible but if m...

Re: Quality Settings for CD
Whether it is a feature or a bug, when audio is exported, it passes through Audacity's "rendering engine". This is so that multi-track and multi-audio clip projects can be handled correctly, along with the track gain, track pan and Envelope tool settings. The "rendering engine" ...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
Regarding the configuration file I have to ask, "Who reads the manual?" I sure did not, I know I know everyone will say the manual is there for a reason but being an ex-electronics professional I don't read manuals unless absolutely necessary. That's another cunning reason why the FAQ is ...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
At the moment, reset is done by editing the audacity.cfg settings file Or during install of v2.0.1 if the box is ticked! Indeed, but that's a clumsy way for more experienced users in my view. However thanks for the note because I see we did not mention this in the Manual at http://manual.audacityte...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
Dennis, thanks for the tests. I captured samples at 24/96 with the minimum memory set to 100MB and Audacity crashed but interestingly the Available Memory is 300MB, see the attachment. Also, prior to crashing Audacity does appear to be functioning correctly regarding writing data to disc as the Avai...

Re: lamelib file not recognised in 2.01
In other words the link to the zip Koz mentions is at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... aclame_zip
Note that this is libmp3lame.dylib. Lamelib is for old 1.2 versions of Audacity using PPC Macs, so will not work for Audacity 2.0 on Intel Mac.

Re: Audacity 2.0.0.0 Apply Chain problem
I agree this should be fixed in 2.0.1 (see "Normalize: Fixed issues where normalization could be to wrong value... if applied to "read-directly" WAV and AIFF files before On-Demand completed" in the 2.0.1 Release Notes ). This would assume your preference was set to use On-Demand...
