Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift

I can't see the file name has any effect.

There is a negligible chance the application ripping the CD is relevant. Which application ripped the CD before and which one now?

Re: Playthrough doesn't work

My System Preferences window does not have Devices. My iMac operating system is Version 10.6.8. Koz meant Audacity > Preferences. Then make sure that in Recording Preferences below that, you have Software Playthrough enabled. If Software Playthrough does not produce audio, get LineIn . Gale

Re: What System Profiler "Kind" Applies to Audacity.app v2.0

Audacity 2.0.1 is a Universal Binary, so it works on Intel Mac (without Rosetta) and PPC Mac. Thanks. (Trust that "kind" information will be coded into a future release.) I've added a bug report http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543 . The Kind information is there, but only...

Re: no plug-ins in menus

Sorry, drafted a reply then returned later and only answered the 2nd part of your question.. Yes, I have the various nyquist.lsp files and the .raw files. Don't know if the Mac is case-sensitive or not, but changed the folder name to Nyquist, opened Audacity and the same message appears (that it ca...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7

Hi Dennis Thanks for your efforts. So as I understand it, you don't crash with an Audacity setting of 600 MB, but you crash with a setting below that. System RAM appears to be no longer used at a point well above and roughly proportional to the Audacity setting. The critical point where RAM stops be...

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift

Clayton, I posted the file here:
http://gaclrecords.org.uk/bugs/part_1.zip

though mdubin has said that other files may crash, especially with 16-bit quality.

Re: no plug-ins in menus

Have repaired permissions, but still no Nyquist files when I open Audacity. Shall I uninstall and reinstall the program again now? There is probably no point unless you did not install Audacity correctly before. Can I ask my questions again? Open Finder then choose "Applications" on the l...

OK, thanks. A pity, because that would have been a simple fix.

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7

Hi Dennis, Thanks for your efforts. I do not know at the moment why Audacity writes empty directories in preparation for transferring the cache to disk on pressing Stop. However I can tell you that each dXX directory inside the eXX directory is written to until the d directory contains 256 .au files...
