Re: Exporting to wave file to computer
I am using the selection tool bar for narrowing down my times correclty which have worked great up until today. The export multiple isnt grayed out, but it kept giving me errors, now it's letting me export, but it's not exporting the correct recording. I think Audacity is a great program, especiall...

Re: Is Audacity right for me?
The cable that goes into the tape recorder may have a 2.5mm plug. What you want to do is connect from the headphones out or line out of the cassette player (which will probably require a 6.3 mm - 1/4 inch plug) to line-in (blue) of the computer (which will require a 3.5 mm - 1/8 inch plug). So you w...

Re: LP Rip with Distortion at the end of side one
VinylStudio ( http://www.alpinesoft.co.uk/ ) apparently records up to 32-bit 192 kbps. What quality do you use in that program? Sombunya doesn't say what quality he is recording at. He does not say if he is using software playthrough, but using playthrough (bidirectional transfer) over USB is respon...

Re: Zennox USB record deck
no - just silence - or maybe a tiny bit of white noise Then it is not an Audacity problem. Try changing the USB cable for one you know works, make sure it fits tightly, and look at the turntable Manual to see if it has a gain knob you can turn up. If not, take it back and buy a better quality model...

Re: Will old latency setting(s) be the same on New Version(s
The latency correction will carry forward to the next version providing you don't reset Preferences in the Audacity installer. Recording latency may change from time to time - or get worse if you install many CPU intensive programs. Only you can decide if the correction is currently accurate enough....

Re: Smoothing out an edit
Use Edit > Find Zero Crossings (shortcut Z) on the selection before making the cut. If you are pasting in an existing waveform. Use Z again before the paste. This works most times to prevent clicks at the joins, but not always. You can also cross-fade between the joins using Envelope Tool if the par...

Re: I can'tdownload from the net
Tino, I have already replied to you from our [email protected] address. I am repeating my reply so that other helpers don't spend time making the same answer. Most of the confusion is that you appear to be using an old version of Audacity. So uninstall that version and install the current 2.0.1 (.exe instal...

Can you give your exact steps in View History? View > History Discard Yes, obviously ;) but I meant exactly what item in the list are you selecting before you discard? Are you still saying: 1 Generate 30 minutes mono 44.1/32 2 You now have d00 and d01 3 Undo 4 You still have d00 and d01 5 Generate ...

Re: Audacity Recording Freeze at 38m 47.5s: Win7
With your system Win7 x32 you can install max 3GB of ram so it might still not enough for your set up. That is a limitation for the 32bit system unless you upgrade (install from scratch new OS) to 64bit. that is not true, I have a 32bit Windows 7 ultimate and 4GB of ram... it allows me to use 4GB o...
