Re: Safe Mode
When you run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, does Audacity record correctly apart from the hum on playthrough? Does this turntable connect to the computer using a USB cable? Windows tracks "compatibility" problems, so may warn you for a long time if there was a problem only once. But you...

Re: save as new .mp3 not adding TAG1 info
Whenever I export a file to .mp3 I can only save the TAG2 info. How can I add the TAG1 info? Runnig 2.0.0 on Linux Kubuntu. If you are asking about exporting ID3v1, Audacity does not support this except by choosing (external program) when you export and pointing Audacity to your chosen LAME binary....

Re: Unable to record/overdub multiple tracks
The first track records fine and plays cleanly but when I try to listen to the first whilst recording a new track alongside it, using my USB microphone and headset, the first track is jumpy, crackly, slows down, then speeds up again... recording to it is all but impossible :( Your sound device or t...

Re: Beginner-itis - Saving a chosen portion of an mp3
I think I'm getting a better idea of this. I read over the link again. If in the blue/purple area = waveform, I place the cursor and press J it takes everything to the very beginning of the piece captured. Then, when I hold SHIFT and press K it takes it to the the end of the piece captured and in t...

Re: device failure
When I plug the USB cable into the new cassette Capture device there is no sound on the PC. When I plug the USB cable into the old cassette Capture device there is sound on the PC. Probably because the new device was Windows default playback device for the computer when you first disconnected it, s...

3 Couper (CTRL + ALT +...

Re: Start up with Mac
In Devices there is no other choice apart from Built in Output and built in Microphone. Do I have to plug in the iMic before it is detected? Sorry I'm a total newby at this! :? You have to plug the USB end of the iMic into a USB port on the Mac before launching Audacity. If you plugged in iMIc whil...

Re: Beginner-itis - Saving a chosen portion of an mp3
I have a green dot placed inside the circle next to the word End in the middle graphic ooh00m00 - I guess that's one of the 3 spin boxes? Yes. when I hit play the line goes across playing the music but the numbers in those spin boxes never change in the first or 2nd spin box - they both remain at 0...

Re: output level as reflected in wav form
2.0 should not be recording at a different level than 1.2 if your input device is the same and the output it's sending is at the same level, however 0.6 on the slider does not equate to any particular resulting recording level. If you don't want the tracks taller then another way you can judge level...

Re: Audacity freezing/crashing
Is it Audacity 2.0.0 or 2.0.1?
There should not be a problem with an SSD if it is working correctly.
Please click Edit > Preferences: Directories. If you have checked "Audio Cache", uncheck it and click OK.
