Re: Lost sound
I have the same problem (except that I have never gotten sound) and have followed all the steps suggested above. I do see the sound bars so I think something is getting there--I just can't hear it. I do have "sound play through" selected. I am new at this so I may be missing something pre...

Re: Lost sound
(One MAJOR problem is the instructions manual I received with the player is for an old version of Audacity, and most of the options/directions have changed. I assume you download Audacity 2.0.1, so read the Audacity Manual for 2.0.1. If you installed the .exe of Audacity, click Help > Manual (in we...

Re: File Export to WAV with Time Track 30x slower than witho
If I have nine audio tracks and a Time Track, export is about five times longer than without the Time Track, and about ten times longer with 18 tracks.
Time Track does resampling. If you change the project rate to something else, export will also be slower.

Re: Stop Following the Damn Cursor During Playback?
There are no posts left to delete. What annoys me and others if you don't uncheck that Preference is that when you press Stop then Play again, the editing cursor moves to the left edge of the screen (and you have to press Play to get to see that cursor again). This is logged as an issue we should fi...

Re: opening very long files
WAV is maximum 2 GB to 4 GB in size depending on the application. So if your file is PCM WAV, six hours is probably all you will get. What application claims to have converted it to WAV in the first place? If there is actually audio data in the file beyond six hours, try splitting the file in a WAV s...

Re: Flac files cause Audacity to crash
Thanks for the reports which are practically identical to each other (and similar to those of the original poster). So we can rule out some things, does rebooting the Mac help? Do the names of the imported or exported files have anything other than the "result" characters in this table: ht...

Re: Muted/Soloed track plays in Audacity but is not in MP3
Both ‘Solo and Mute’ buttons in – the track is blue so visually one assumes that it is in the mix but unfortunately it is not because the mute button also is in – as you say, the Mute by design assuming the priority. Would it be possible for the waveform, under these conditions, to be greyed out ma...

Re: Flac files cause Audacity to crash
I have read through this thread, and cannot find the Library file on my computer in order to reset preferences. The user's Library folder is hidden from Lion onwards. In Finder, you can just use Go > Go to Folder then type ~/Library/Application Support/audacity To make sure Audacity starts with ini...

Re: Using FeSTige on KXStudio
I suppose I could open Audacity from a terminal, and see what it prints out when it crashes.. if it would help you. Usually the terminal messages are not detailed enough to show what exactly went wrong. Ideally you would build the debug version of Audacity (or install the dbg package of Audacity su...
