Re: I am a nubie
Import the MP3. Press Space to Play, Space again to Stop. Drag along the blue waveform with your mouse to select the first bit you want to save as a separate MP3. Command - b to open a label for that selection, then type the name you want for that file. Then drag-select the next bit for export, labe...

Re: Converting ODM to MP3 files

Re: language
That was of no help! You didn't read it. It includes steps if you cannot understand the language Audacity is running in: 1 Choose the second menu from the left in the Audacity menus at top left of the screen (on Mac, click on the first menu from the left) 2 Choose the bottom item of that menu, whic...

Re: Converting ODM to MP3 files
As far as I understand it from a search on Google, ODM files are just a small text file that downloads the actual audio book once you have installed Overdrive Media Console ( http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/accessibility.aspx ). If you can then play the audio in Media Console, you can use Soun...

Re: Trouble installing Audacity 2.x on Windows XP service pa
From your description, I would reinstall Windows.
For now, have you tried unchecking the option in the Audacity installer "Create Desktop icon", or using the Audacity zip file instead?
