Re: install Audacity v2.0 under Window 2000
See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/mixer_toolbar.html . If the input slider is greyed out, it simply does not control the system input slider at all. This is probably due to issues with the drivers of the sound device you are using. We grey the slider out when it cannot control the system slid...

Re: Muted/Soloed track plays in Audacity but is not in MP3
The choice of which option to have as the default was seen by most of the developers to be a choice between using a "standard" behaviour as the default, a "non-standard" (but easier) behaviour as the default, or the even easier but much less functional "None" as the de...

Re: No more poncing about with Audacity.
Multi-tool mode: you can only move a ‘track in time’ once - only once! I agree that's a bug when hovering over the grab bar to move the entire track, then going back to do the same thing later. Also it does seem to work correctly in 1.2.6. You can work around this by using the grab bar at the other...

Re: Mesing about just to save a file
To clarify some things... You rightly cannot turn off warnings about overwriting the same file. When exporting a file: “warning – you are about to save a wave file with …etc etc…" Not being able to overwrite files unless you type in the extension each time This warning occurs if you save a file...

If there are no more rc's, rc4 will be renamed and released as 2.0.2.oyster3 wrote:I am going to wait on 2.0.2.
If you want to wait, you can check the announcement at the top of the Windows forum for when 2.0.2 is released.

Re: Error on sliding time scale/pitch shift
Please keep me informed as to when bug_557_p4 will be incorporated into a future audacity release. We are at rc4 for 2.0.2 - see http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=67279 . 2.0.2 rc4 includes the "bug_557_p4" Time Scale fix. We aim to release rc4 as 2.0.2 in a couple of...

Re: Muted/Soloed track plays in Audacity but is not in MP3
Where do we say that in the Manual? The green div here seems perfectly clear: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/mixing.html#mute . I haven't yet read all of that page but I did spot the following sentence very near the top of the page (the emphasis is mine): You could just put audio into two dif...

Re: Wave Form and Volume Low Since Using 2.0
If your input in Audacity Device Toolbar was set to "Microsoft Sound Mapper" or "Primary Sound Capture Driver" this would be the line-in if Windows was set to line-in. You can still leave Windows set to line-in while explicitly choosing the microphone as the input in Device Toolb...
