Re: Not recognizing any playback or recording options
I had compiled 2.0.2 but it had that bug... 2.0.0 seems to work fine I don't believe there is any general bug that 2.0.2 does not see any audio devices. There is some other reason that 2.0.2 for you (but 2.0.1 for 122344555) does not see any devices. Did you try quitting Audacity and resetting auda...

Re: How do I hear the Export mix?
OK we have three votes then for Tracks > Unsolo All Tracks. I'm trying to deliver improvements that have a good chance of consensus. @PGA: I'm glad Steve switched your light on, but even if you had read for example my last post it should have been obvious that Solo does not affect export. ;) I don't...

Re: Cursor functionality needs dramatic improvement
Mike, I recorded your votes for "audible scrubbing" and markers in the waveform. CTRL + I (or Cmnd - I on Mac) to add a split line is as close as it gets to markers in the waveform in Audacity at the moment. Double-click between split lines to select between them. I also guess that since A...

Re: Bug in 2.0.2 Release Notes
As there were a lot of release candidates this time, the mistake you are complaining about was actually in the draft release notes for about 10 days (I missed it, I did all the work on that page unaided). The problem happens, obviously, when reusing an old template to make a new document. There are ...

Re: revovery from temporary .au files
Have you installed the latest 2.0.2 yet ( http://audacityteam.org/download/windows )?
A message like "Do you want to delete temporary .au files or save them?" should only appear in the obsolete 1.2 version of Audacity.

Re: Audacity won't launch… well, not really.
That worked out perfectly !! Thanks for posting the old file. I don't see anything obviously "bad" in it, so the problem was probably an Audio Unit or VST plug-in (more likely a new system Audio Unit). . If you want to find out which plug-in caused the problem, I'm afraid it's a question ...

Re: Why cant i hear it play on another format
Also look if the time counter in Windows Media Player goes round when you try to play the file. If it does, the file is valid, so either you exported silence or you don't have the Windows default playback device set correctly or you have the volume turned down. When you have done Steve's steps, if y...

Re: can not import .wav file
If all the files play with VLC this suggests strongly that Audacity will import them if you use FFmpeg as already suggested. If not, try playing the files in VLC and recording them into Audacity ( see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html ) or use ...

Re: Not recognizing any playback or recording options
Input Device lists are empty in both toolbar and Pref's. That is why you get "error opening". Audacity v. 1.3.12-beta (Unicode) running under Lucid on the same machine works fine. If that is a packaged version it is usually better to completely uninstall it before compiling your own versi...
