Re: Cannot locate LAME and FFMPEG in Audacity 2.0.2
I have just completed a clean install of Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and downloaded and installed Audacity 2.0.2 together with the LAME and FFMPEG plug-in all in their default locations. I could launch Audacity tho the first time it prompted me that my configuration was wrong. What was the exact message? ...

Re: How do I hear the Export mix?
Some facts, dating from when the new Solo Button Modes were brought in. I don't read every post on the Forum, but until Big Kev and PGA started this, I think maybe one other person here may have flagged up about "what you hear may not be what you get". Maybe one person on the audacity4blin...

Re: Not recognizing any playback or recording options
I'm having the same problem with 2.0.2 on Ubuntu 10.10. I just downloaded the source last night, and compiled it about an hour ago. I'm seeing exactly the same symptoms as the erippy. Well, 10.10 is no longer supported by Canonical. Does Help > Audio Device Info in Audacity show any information, or...

Re: Newer codec versions
The reason that Audacity's Libraries Preferences is tied to the recommended LAME and FFmpeg is that other versions of those libraries usually don't have enough "symbols" compiled in, so the exported files are written without proper length information, with metadata missing and similar prob...

Re: format problems
ok, sorry if this is a dumb question but how would I put the files back, as in where would the origin be? now we are talking about this 2.0.2 even if the files were created in an older version right? If you imported WAV or AIFF files into your projects without copying those files in, then moved or ...

Also try the Fade by dB plug-in ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 22#p104922 ) .
If you want % units you will have to try Text Envelope:

Re: can't open audacity
Try Google search. There are many reports of problems with that plug-in. Try deleting .asoundrc or asound.conf (see http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Asoundrc ) . Or delete the plug-in if you don't want it. You can also quit Audacity and initialise its preferences ( http://manual.audacityte...

Vo...

Re: How do I hear the Export mix?
If no other changes at all were made to Audacity, I think it would be a great help to the sighted user if, under Solo=Standard, the Track Name change its background colour when that track was solo-ed. It can do no harm at all to put up a visual reminder that a condition has been set which could res...
