Re: Where is the Waves plug-ins folder?
Waves 7, 8 and 9 Audio Units are not compatible with Audacity. If VST or AudioUnit effects are not needed in Audacity, force quit Audacity, then open Finder, Go > Go To Folder and open ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/ . Open audacity.cfg (or create it if it does not exist) then add or edit it...

Re: Audacity Constantly Crashes during recording -- Optical
Trying to transfer DAT tapes and Audacity 2.02 crashes constantly -- never at the same point -- 10sec to 15min, some times as soon as I press record.. No recording playthrough is enabled. Scratch disk is an empty, internal 250gb drive. Latest crash report follows. Any help would be appreciated. Tha...

Re: 2.0.0 You do not appear to have help installed
1) Do I have to uninstall/delete/remove 2.0.0 before installing the latest one? Yes it is better than you unmount and drag to Trash the dmg and any other contents you may have copied from it. 2) Was Help broken in 2.0.0 but fixed in the latest version? No - it was never broken. (Why doesn't it work...

Re: Shift+A adds label
What's the workaround? Use up or down arrow to move focus into or out of the label track depending on whether you want to use the shortcut or type into a label. I think the point may be that user can't type "j" or "k" into the label. Try Edit > Undo (using the Menu, not CTRL + Z...

Re: Enabling input devices.
I see, guess I just didn't read enough of the tutorial. You didn't. The bottom of the tutorial lists other apps you can use: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html#alt . Once again it is not Microsoft who remove stereo mix, but largely the choice o...

Re: Narrowband Noise
Maybe the comments should have ;; http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.html per convention.
So people can use it from the Generate menu without changing defaults, I suggest "Identical" (renamed as "Mono/Dual Mono" or similar) be default.

Re: 2.0.0 You do not appear to have help installed
When I open Help -> Manual in web browser I get "You do not appear to have help installed on this computer". I'm on Mac Core 2 duo with Lion and installed via .dmg. Audacity (and the help directory) is not installed in the Applications directory, but the Applications directory has a soft-...

Re: How to convert a V2.0 project to mp3 if .aup is lost?
If I use "file -> input -> Raw Data", I could only open one single .au file of talk_data and its sound is strange, not the English conversion in cassattee tape which I try to convert to mp3. If I use "file -> Export", I could only open one single .au file of talk_data at a time....

Re: Audacity, Stereo Mix no longer working
Again, what are you trying to record exactly with stereo mix? Computer playback? The mic combined with computer playback? Are you playing what you want to record on the Realtek device? You can't for example play audio on a USB headset then record it with stereo mix on the Realtek - the headset and R...

Re: How to mark spots on audio file to fast forward to
iTunes won't even open WMA (it will convert WMA to the file format you have chosen for importing in the iTunes Preferences). WMA doesn't natively support bookmarking any more than MP3 does so it's highly unlikely the converted WMA had bookmarks. What edits were you trying to make to the file when yo...
