Re: Arrange your tracks with 'Chain-it-up.ny'
Thanks for posting this, Robert. I am not a fade guru, so I will refrain from comment about fades other than wondering if the fade shapes should be a separate control so as to make the "Transition type" list more readable (note that visually impaired users cannot scan the list visually but...

Re: RECORDING - NOISE ONLY
As already explained, Audacity will not list the USB Audio Codec in Device Toolbar if Windows does not list it. Try going through every step here http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntables#trouble . To close a track, press the [X] to left of the track, or if you don't want any of the tracks, F...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Are these the features that we want? Choice of dB or % (default dB) Initial Gain level (text box) Final Gain level (text box) Curve options: Linear (default) Smooth ("S" shaped) based on a sine curve Mid Fade Boost (curve modifier +/- 100) If we need (1) Choice of dB or %, then (2) and (3...

Re: Using Versions 2.0.2 & 1.2.6
I've just run a Firefox "Find" on this page and it seems that nobody has asked a most fundamental question: what operating system is being used? You all seem to be assuming it is Windows Mac or Linux do not have an Audacity "installer" that asks for the installer language and sh...

Re: Using Versions 2.0.2 & 1.2.6
I've now recorded some audio on the 2.0.2 version and the median line problem isn't there, so I'm happy to update to the 2.0.2 version as my sole source of Audacity. I'm afraid if you zoom in you will see the centre zero line is there. The only way not to see it is to use a Spectrogram view mode ( ...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
That would not fully balance Pro Fade Out because there would still be no non-linear fade without GUI, even if the versatile fade default was Fade In. The Pro Fade Out effect has been optimised to provide a "musical" fade out effect. For a "musical" fade in, in some cases a &quo...

Re: Newbie asking 4 help adding short silence to file
After trimming the end to two seconds, I zoom in -> highlight the last two seconds -> Edit (upper text menu) -> Remove Audio -> Silence Audio. Thanks. That leaves the total length of audio the same (you are replacing the last two seconds of fade out or whatever it was with silence). Generate > Sile...

Re: Losing Audio Tag information upon exporting
Hi Bob You will always have to re-encode the MP3's to apply a filter to them. A player with advanced equalizer filters might save the Audacity problem but I guess you have tried that? Have you tried the filters in CoolEdit or WavePad http://tinyurl.com/colqje5 ? I don't know how well those programs ...
