Re: Help understanding Sampling Rates in Windows 7
So you have a phone to computer audio adaptor, is that so? If my understanding is correct, then all I should concern myself with is: 1) making sure that the Exclusive Mode boxes for whatever input device I'm working with are checked; 2) choosing the correct number of channels in the Default Format s...

Re: Status of Mezzo dev, Audacity 2.0 Backend
PortAudio suported device aggregation under MME a long time ago, but Audacity has never shown any inclination to support this. There are a number of technical problems that make it very difficult to support multiple simultaneous recording devices on Windows with MME or Direct sound. The main proble...
Re: Slow Play
The strange thing is that it plays fine on Media Player. It still may not really be an MP3. Does Media Player show any warning about it before playing it? You will either need to drop the file onto http://minus.com/ then tell us the link to download it, or you may be able to record the file into Au...

Re: Sound in all other programs, but suddenly none in Audaci
I am having the exact same issue here.. Sound comes out fine on every application on my computer except Audacity. I use Linux. It stopped playing all of sudden. Any solution? I downloaded Audacity on Windows on the same computer, it plays fine. As the problem is on Linux it is better to post to the...

Exactly what edits are you making between project saves (look at View > History...).
Can you post a project that demonstrates this problem to http://minus.com/ ?

Re: Status of Mezzo dev, Audacity 2.0 Backend
Gotta love proprietary drivers. :P Right.... So I'm going to have to start compiling Audacity for every computer I use just to get multi-channel recording. If all the computers are Windows 2000 and later, compile Audacity once with ASIO support then copy the built executable with the correct widget...

Re: Error Message/No Capture Device found
I am using windows 7 and have downloaded 2.0.2 Never had this problem before but I get an error message to check input device settings and then when I troubleshoot under the help menu get the message "No Capture Device Found". I have Realtek High Definition speakers and can hear playback ...
Re: Slow Play
It's an mp3 a friend recorded for me. I'm using the 1.3.1 as I recall and I have Windows 7. I have not downloaded the newest version--I'm rather weary I might not be able to use it as well as the beta version. It may not be an MP3 or may be otherwise corrupt. Using an unsupported version of Audacit...

Re: Export in AAC 320 KBPS
As I have explained twice already, Audacity's AAC export is variable bit rate, as is the case with most AAC encoders. If you are not comfortable with that, you can try the Nero command-line AAC encoder instead (it should work if you export from Audacity using (external files) and point Audacity to n...
