Re: Append Import
I would still rather give people a bit more help here, given Windows and Mac hide extensions by default. How about .... Yes I can go for that, but it's an extra line and we're already up to the 25 line limit for 800 x 600, so we'll need to lose a line somewhere - perhaps the blank line between: loa...

Yes, the objective is the same size (or proportional size if you change the length).kozikowski wrote:And you accept the quality loss.saving default would be the same format and parameters as the origin.

Re: Harmonic Number Scale for Frequency Analysis
OK @Peter I will add these two FR's some time, so no need to put all this in PFR's.

Re: File menu;
In the "SAVE" process when I pull down the" File" menu the "Export Selection" category is grey (not available). How do I correct this so I can go forward with the process? Press the yellow Stop button: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_editing.html#grayed . Gale

Re: loss of sound after installing audacity
waxcylinder meant if you have been using a USB device to record with, which will set the WIndows playback device to the USB device. If it it was a USB microphone or turntable which is not meant to be a computer playback device, this will kill sound on your computer. Please recheck: http://manual.aud...

Re: Help understanding Sampling Rates in Windows 7
What I found is that, for a Default Format rate of 44.1khz or 48khz, the noise floor remains constant at approximately -50 to -60db regardless of the rate set in Audacity. However, if a Default Format rate of 96khz is selected, then the noise floor raises into the -40 to -50db range. And I see -30 ...

Re: Append Import
Looks OK on Win 7. will check XP and 8/ OS X later unless there is a volunteer on Mac? It seems un-necessary to label starting at the cursor point Nyquist is unaware of the cursor position or the track start time. The start time for Nyquist is "time = zero" and Audacity puts "time = z...

Re: wma files size not as the original
It would be very useful and appreciated if someone of the Audicity developers would consider to add the ability to read the original audio file parameters (bit rate, compression method, ...) and when cutting and saving, the saving default would be the same format and parameters as the origin. OK th...

Re: editing an MP3 track. How?
Downloaded the MP3 Direct. Gee, they sure try and get ya to download a bunch of other stuff and change browser and home page etc. Many free (even some open source) programs are like that now - it provides some income. Audacity will not be going down that road, though. Well, it really did look easy ...

Re: Append Import
Hi Steve Tested on Windows 8 (just to be awkward). If the "Import Folder" field is empty and I choose "Sequential", "Mono" (or "Stereo") I get a message “Directory “” does not exist" (with no Debug output). The "Usage" help states the working di...
