Re: updated to 2.x and now don't have access to audio on win

You may have made more changes than you should have done, but try clicking the Windows globe and type "Device Manager" (without quotes) in the search box. Click on the Device Manager link when it appears in the search results. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers" by clickin...

Re: Audacity 2.0.1 crashes on Mac Mountain Lion during recor

You didn't say when you wrote to fee[email protected] that you were using an external audio device. You could check with Presonus if OS X 10.8 has broken compatibility with the interface. Are you setttng 24-bit 48000 Hz in Apple Audio MIDI Setup as well as in Audacity? Do you get a crash when recording from th...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

Thanks, Steve. I hope the following doesn't seem too negative. Maybe, but it would probably conveys nothing to many. It could be thought of as a "strong" curve, probably not how you want it to be thought of? Compared to a linear fade, the "square root of linear ramp" fade can be ...

Re: Gverb effect,plzzzzz help!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you want some phaser as well as reverb (I am not an audio engineer).

Here is some help with GVerb:

It's often best to duplicate the track and apply GVerb to only one of the copies, as explained in the link above.

Re: Record both sides of a conversation.

You will probably have to spend money: http://www.voiceemotion.com/ http://www.highcriteria.com/ . The only way you might be able to do it in Audacity is to unmute the mic in the Playback side of Windows XP Sounds and Audio Devices (which plays your mic through the headphones) then record from stere...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

If the "Cross Fade" shape we ship now is useful, what descriptive label would that have? An accurate description would be "Square root of linear ramp" or "linear ramp to the power 0.5". A more friendly name might be something like "power curve"? Maybe, but it...

Re: Export multiple is limited to 4

How to use the tools in the top menu bar, especially the functions of the commands that are NOT self-explanatory, such as those under 'Effect.' Don’t assume the readers know what terms mean, like “loop,’ Sync-Lock, or any other term not ordinarily used in layman English. These are all probably desc...
