Re: Vsti scanning
Another issue is that Audacity does not have money to buy hundreds of expensive VSTi plug-ins to test (and the vendors don't offer them to us for free). I tried the FL Studio Demo on Windows 7. I got no errors until I pointed Audacity to the Fruity* dll's. However the errors produced appear to come ...

Re: Audacity Chains with thousands of files
Thanks.
One thing you could try. Open Windows Task Manager, Processes tab, right-click over audacity.exe > Set Affinity. If Audacity is set to use all processors (it almost certainly doesn't), just try selecting one processor.

Re: Import
Just to cover another possibility if your Audacity input is correctly chosen (that is, the computer input the mixer is connected to), make sure you are not sending the click track to the mixer and then sending that back to Audacity to be recorded along with the guitar. You can usually avoid that pro...

Re: Audacity Chains with thousands of files
Is Audacity still responsive after processing stops after 1500 files or so? Could you restart batch processing with another 1500 files or so if you wanted to, or do you have to force quit? The temporary space should be cleared by Audacity after processing each file, so disk space should not be a pro...
Re: Import
Look. I have an accoustic guitar, plugged in an audio mixer console that is plugged in the PC. As per the first reply, select the Audacity input that the mixer is connected to. Is it a USB mixer and you are connecting the mixer to the computer using a USB cable? Or is the mixer connected to line-in...
Re: Import
Dude. I've tried all four alternatives of input and it's still recording the imported audio. Then I would suggest you should have stated that in your original post, so that we knew. We have no idea what level of expertise you have if you just say you have a problem and give no further information. ...

Re: Audacity Chains with thousands of files
I am facing some issues using chains on a large number of files, i.e. up to 20,000 Thanks for the report. That seems like an unreasonable number to me. Most computers would probably take half and hour just to select all the files in the file open dialogue. Issue 1) When trying to select a large num...

Re: Import
I'm trying to record a guitar over an imported track but the imported track is being recorded along the guitar. And that's happening when I try to use a click track. How can I solve it ? Look in Audacity's Device Toolbar http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html . Record from the inp...

Re: Problem with a project crush
If you overwrote the project (the project with the same name was in the same folder as the old project) then you cannot retrieve the old project. What version of Audacity are you using (look at Help > About Audacity)? Any version of Audacity from the last few years won't allow you to overwrite anoth...
