Re: need to remove silence at end via script

Can you not use Effect > Truncate Silence? And maybe use it in a Chain applied to files which would do export too?

You just need to set the threshold high enough in Truncate Silence so that it removes the noise as well as the silence.

Re: Audio Quality Drops With Another Program Open

You will need to try the list of suggestions in the link Steve gave http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Managing_Computer_Resources_and_Drivers . What did you do when you reset the laptop? A System Restore? A reinstall of Windows may be a good idea (back up your data, but you should be able to reinsta...

Re: Audicity only showing flat lines trying to record from w

Stereo Mix is the best choice in Audacity. Do you have the input slider on Audacity Mixer Toolbar turned up? You can also connect audio out to line-in with a cable and record from line-in. See that and the other alternatives further down the page you mentioned: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/t...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

Is it: - "exponential growth" curve, where the y-value increases and the slope of the curve increases as x increases. - "exponential decay" curve, where the y-value decreases and the slope of the curve decreases as x decreases. - "logarithmic growth" curve, where the y...

Re: Can't hear click track while recording with USB mic

I'm trying to record to a click track while using a mic plugged in through the USB port on my computer (I'm currently using version 2.0.2 with Windows 7). I can hear the click track just fine when the mic isn't pugged in, but as soon as I plug it in, I can't hear anything at all, but I can still re...

Re: Sound Activated recording minimum duration

I've added the vote (we are not distinguishing between pre-and post roll in votes as we would add both when we do it). However a developer has already said this is a significant piece of work and it is not likely to happen soon Perhaps we should have separate feature requests for pre- and post-roll...

Re: getting the correct FFmpeg_v0.6.2 fro Audacity for Windo

Well, once I have created the beginning of the piece by Shift/A how do I mark the end of the portion I want? I could hit the stop button - could I then choose File > Export Selection and it would save the portion from Shift/A to where I hit the stop button? Or must I somehow mark that stop position...

Re: getting the correct FFmpeg_v0.6.2 fro Audacity for Windo

Hi Gail By the way, it is g - a - l - e as in strong winds. :) I found about where I would like to create my recording and hit Ctrl/M and then hit stop where I wanted it to end. When I played that back I decided I would like it to start just a smidget before it does start with the Ctrl/M marking at...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

Is the problematic description due to it being a fade out, or to something else? The problem is similar to describing left and right when facing someone - my left or your left. A logarithmic curve is a "reflection" (inverse) of an exponential curve. I don't know whether other non-mathemat...
