Re: I can't get audacity installed to open up
Nothing happens when I hit the icon on the doc or from applications from Finder. I'm thinking I haven't installed it correctly. This is what I did. I hit download from Audacity Mac... then clicked on the download folder when audacity finished downloading and it open up a file folder and a text file...

Re: increasing input volume
thanks Bill, It improved it but is not as loud as a cd, maybe i'm expecting too much. On the amplifier, it will only allow me to go up so high even though there are higher limits. CD's often sound "loud" because they are dynamically compressed to reduce the difference between loud and sof...

Re: increasing input volume
I do get a system slider on OS X 10.7.4 for a USB sound card with line, mic and S/PDIF inputs, but not with a USB mic or USB turntable. Perhaps the restriction is with single input USB devices?billw58 wrote:On Mac, the system cannot affect the volume of the audio received via a USB connection.

There are also the closely related " Trim Track " and " Trim Extend " plug-ins: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=30999 and already on the wiki: " Extract Audio " and "Time Shifter" http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-in...

Re: Sync problem with export multiple
Is the latency correction adjusted to what you want anyway, with leading silence, even if trimmed to time zero ? See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/latency_test.html if not.
Is the required feature request that Export Multiple has an option not to export before Time Zero?

Re: changing ouput level
As previously explained, you do not want to clip the audio in Audacity because that makes it distort. If a peak of 0 dB (the maximum without clipping) is still too quiet on the tablet, then you only have two choices: Compress the peaks on the audio to a lower level, so you can then amplify further w...

Re: I can get audacity installed to open up
I downloaded the file...copied it to applications. It shows up on my dock. But I can't click anything that will get it to open up. You can also launch Audacity from the Applications folder in Finder. If Audacity is already running with no project windows open, click the Audacity icon in the Dock th...

Re: Compiling XCode 4.5 Mountain Lion
Building Audacity on "Mountain Lion" is not officially supported yet. A Mac developer who sometimes works on Audacity got it to work with hackage but has not documented his steps. No-one else has made it work yet. You may get some ideas from http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_...

Re: Suggestion: open multiple audio files
If you have different maximised Audacity windows open you can press the "Restore down" button (top right) on each window then position them as you like above or beside each other (or use the Windows commands to tile the windows). If you are asking for each project in one Audacity window to...
