Re: Aud2.0 on Vista - "Noise Removal" freezing up/acting wei
We can't take this anywhere unless you post an example file (at http://www.sendspace.com or http://minus.com/ or similar), tell us exactly the time range of the selection you chose for the noise profile (look in "Selection Start" and "End" in the toolbar at the bottom), and tell ...

By default, Windows Vista and 7 should defragment automatically in the background at a specified time once per week, as soon as the computer is detected idle (of course if the computer is switched on). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Improve-performance-by-defragmenting-your-hard-di...

Re: normalize corruption
it looks like there was a memory problem in the temp directory, i had to move the temp directory to new location. On what basis did you suspect a memory problem? It is quite possible Audacity became unable to write to the temp directory - maybe even due to lack of space. If so, Help > Show Log woul...

Re: Why does Audacity crash every couple minutes?
The problem is that all my projects are in this old version of Audacity, and I have read that if I try to open them in the new version, it won't work. In most cases you can open 1.2 projects in 2.x, but if you make changes to the project and save those changes in 2.x then you you cannot open that p...

Re: normalize corruption
not sure if the pm sent to gale andrews worked. it shows 1 message in my outbox but no messages in 'sent messages' Thanks for the file. Messages you send don't appear in "sent" for a short while. I have normalized the file to -1 dB then rendered it and exported it on Windows 7. No corrupt...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
I've been steering clear of this for a day or two as I have spent a long time on it (as you have). I was also interested to see if yulac came back with any response. I see a greater degree of issue than you do with not having a preset (that disables the other controls). From the power user point of ...

Re: normalize corruption
Is it possible to upload one or two of the source recordings that cause an issue somewhere for us to see? You could use dropbox or http://www.sendspace.com or http://minus.com/ . Probably we don't need the whole file in the case where the last 30 seconds is corrupted, just (say) the last minute. Gale

The DAW supported by Presonus is Studio One and I have no idea how or why is is working Do you mean that if you run Studio One all day, turn it off at night, then launch it next morning, it always records? Reinstalling Windows is tantamount to buying another computer I don't know your system of cou...

Re: Any plugin from the LSPDA set causes a scan....
Hmmm, happens with legacy Audacity, too. We don't know what happens, with what plug-ins package, because you did not answer Steve's questions. If this something happens without going into the Effects Preferences to rescan VST effects, can you post an image of the error message box you see (ALT + Pr...

Please see "Information about this forum" (in pink at the top of the page): For all help enquiries, please state which Linux distribution you are using and whether you installed Audacity from the repository or the source code. Which three-digit version number of Audacity are you using (see...
