What is it you are trying to do? Or were you hoping Audacity would rip the combined track directly into the project?

We can add your vote for CD import if you like.

Re: exporting wav to ulaw

I notice most of this thread is from May, 2011. I am using Audacity 2.0.2 Did the libsndfile export fixe referred to earlier get included in this build to include the 18byte chunk? Yes, unless you compiled Audacity from source code and changed the version of libnsdfile. I'm trying to use output fro...

Re: Help! Recording saved into thousands of small files

Have you got the AUP file of the same name as the _data folder? Does it say "orphaned block files" when you try and open it? I would think it very likely because Audacity cannot save projects with more than 13.5 hours of audio at 44100 Hz Project Rate, cannot save more than 6.75 hours at 8...

Re: New LV2 plugins coming from Harrison

I think I have good news on that front! SLV2 has been superseded by LILV (http://drobilla.net/software/lilv/). We use LILV in Ardour/Mixbus and it compiles easily on Windows. The Redland requirement has also been removed; LILV does its own file parsing. That sounds encouraging, especially if we can...

Re: No Recording Windows 7

Exit Audacity. Connect the turntable to the computer and switch it on. Launch Audacity. In Device Toolbar , choose USB Audio CODEC (or similar) for input and your computer sound card for output. Press Transport > Software Playthrough so that it is ticked, then you can hear while you are recording. I...

Re: Sound withdrawl?

Why don't you record your voice in FRAPS rather than trying to run two audio recording applications simultaneously on the same machine? On XP (if there is no other way), you should be able to go into Windows Sounds and Audio Devices, press "Volume" under "Sound playback", then u...

Re: Converting multiple *.CDA's to 1 MP3 file

Try CDex ( http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ ) . Press F10 and select the whole length of the CD. You can then rip the CD as one file containing all the CD tracks either as MP3 ("Compressed Audio File") or WAV. If you want to edit the CD tracks in Audacity (for example apply filters to make t...

Re: Exporting WAV , saves WAV , but recording is Data file

I have a Toshiba L755 with Windows 7. I am trying to save my music to either "My Documents - My music" or "C drive - public music." I save the recording using Export -save file as WAV . When I open My Documents - My Music it shows the music saved as " type - File" and ...

Re: RAX Audio File

It's possible to record any files into Audacity as they play, if your machine supports this ( see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html ). This would be slightly lossy, but burning an audio CD would be lossless. You should only record the files if ...

Re: Plot Spectrum drop-down settings not sticking

The FFT window(Spectrogram) does not "keep" my settings when I close Audacity and return to it later on. It depends what you mean. The type of waveform (Spectrogram(f), Waveform(dB) or whatever) is not saved in the project. The default waveform (for any tracks) can be set to one of the Sp...
