Re: Separated/Individual balance for Right and Left channels

I'm interested in an option to balance sound level, separated/individual option for left and right channel through audacity. When I balance r/l channels via windows propertys line-in, I put 10 in right channel and 8 in left channel. Audacity's peakmeters detect the balance, and all ok. When I click...

Re: Audacity is super slow

If I select a 10-minute chunk of the audio and hit the delete button, Win7 says that Audacity is (Not Responding) for at least 30 seconds, before finally refreshing without the deleted chunk. If I click to zoom, it takes 10 seconds (I counted) before the window refreshes with the zoom, although I d...

Re: Playback sound quality lousy

Have you looked in the Windows Control Panel > Hardware and Sound as I suggested? You show the top of it in your image. Please show an image of the entire Hardware and Sound window. And please attach a few seconds of WAV or 320 kbps MP3 audio (maximum size, 1 MB) so we can hear what you are complain...

Re: Interference

Many laptops will be noisy, think how close the sound device is to sources of mechanical and electrical interference. It may be though that you already have the input level turned up higher than you need it, so the noise will not be so high when you record. What level does this noise show on the rec...

Re: how do I record phone interviews

Just to add another idea, many cellphone service providers will provide their own recording services and then you access the recordings on the web, or if not, third-party companies will provide such, like: http://www.callrecordercard.com/call-recorder-solutions/faq.html Of course, this is not cheap,...

Re: Audio Cassette - Recording

If you set Device Toolbar as you had it before:

then Audacity should record, if you also have the right-hand (input) slider on Mixer Toolbar turned up:

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

We are looking at "Adjustable Fade" because you thought it necessary to provide a "package" of effects to replace Cross Fade In/Out rather than just promoting "Pro Fade Out" on its own merits. I think there are even stronger reasons than that, see above. But yes, I can...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

I anticipate that our users would expect a balanced pair of fades. I definitely think so. But I think we have to have a non GUI linear fade out, so if we want a non-GUI musical fade out as well then we need two pairs of non GUI fades. I stand in absolute awe of Steve's work +1 :) It just does not l...
