Re: Suppress echo effect ?

It's possible the frequency changes on their own are responsible for much of the cleanup. Of course you can try it yourself.

Re: 2.1.2 Stuck After Crash

If you think all three buttons in Crash Recovery were leading to frozen menus, not just Discard, please let us know. We just "might" try to fix that in 2.1.3 and make 2.1.4 the final version (or we might not). There are workarounds to opening the AUTOSAVE file as an AUP file to get round f...

Re: Help with Plugins - macOS Sierra

Gale, if I did get time to try that non-simple recipe, would doing that invalidate any future test to see if the upcoming signed version supplies the Nyquist commands :?: As long as you only removed the quarantine on /Applications/Audacity/ it would be a valid test to then download the signed build...

Re: 2.1.2 Stuck After Crash

How much drivespace do you have? If Audacity crashed with a big project on the timeline, chances are there is a lot of debris and unclosed caches scattered around which may prevent you from opening Audacity. The menu freeze after closing (at least) "Discard Projects" is a known problem on...

Re: Suppress echo effect ?

OK I could not resist spending two minutes on it being told it was beyond hope. If it is mono you can only choose Noise Reduction not Vocal Reduction and Isolation. In the short file, drag-select from about 0.67 seconds to 1.05 seconds. In Noise Reduction, take Noise Profile, Edit > Select > All, No...

Re: 2.1.2 Stuck After Crash

I had four sound files open when my Mac crashed and I had to restart. Now, when I open Audacity v2.1.2 I get a recovery notice with the option to (A) quit, (B) discard or (C) recover the files. All of the options leave me with a blank mixer page and none of the menu items work, leaving me no option...

Re: Recording has turned into Playback

Thanks. The problem was restored after restarting and that meant losing on the recorded project. If you are saying Audacity was non-responsive, so would not let you save or export the recording and you had to force quit it, then Audacity "should" offer to recover the good part of the reco...

Thanks for letting us know. Hopefully sometime we can find out why the "shared" version with separate DLL's is not working.

Re: Help with Plugins - macOS Sierra

But it doesn't seem like a "simple recipe" to a Mac neophyte like me  Let's hope with the signed build that we won't need to offer that solution. You can reboot, or execute the "Audacity" shell app inside the bundle, but it is said those methods are less likely to work. Gale
