Re: Professional sounding fade out.

26C In 25f: the difference between the gain and % choices is clearer those who want sliders won't be offended you can "store" an alternative set of values if you don't mind changing the units ... The objections to 26c may be that: we have lost the "linear units" (so it may force...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

I don't like entering two separate numbers in a single input box (far too wacky for my UI taste) The TimeText controls (for example, in Selection Toolbar) are not that dissimilar an idea. Obviously if there was a decent GUI with Nyquist the different values could be more physically separated in som...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

what we have to remember is that this is not a beginner's tool (or even a tool for the low-skilled to average-skilled user). I am not sure I agree. The major gap we have is there is nothing between the non-GUI fades and Envelope Tool. I am comfortable with making this low to average skilled, but le...

Re: Playback sound quality lousy

Make sure the "Advanced" tab for stereo mix still has both "Exclusive Mode" boxes checked, like this: http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=6320 Then if you have not done it already, set "Host" in Audacity's Device Toolbar "Windows DirectSound" an...

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

(Re: "normalized exponential"...) If it was an additional "fade type" (so we had 14 types), is it compatible with the "dB Scale" choice? Yes. We had the "normalized exponential" in v24.[...] Should we assume that they want a fade that "looks" like a...

Re: Does Audacity 2 allow spacebar play/pause?[SOLVED]

I just was able to remap Pause/Unpause) to the spacebar in Audacity 1.2... If you clear the binding for Space (which you now have allocated to "Play/Stop and Set Cursor") then yes you can allocate Space to "Pause". But then you have to use some other shortcut to actually start a...

Re: Audacity is super slow

There may not be much you can do. The slowness problem crept in about half way through the Beta series as a result of a number of changes (mainly to improve project recovery). Changing the Default Sample Format in Audacity's Quality Preferences to 16-bit might help - it halves the data Audacity is t...

Re: Interference

It registers at around -18 on the meter. At maximum input volume? My laptop does not have a separate line-in other than the microphone input. Then you will probably be advised to buy a USB interface. Have you read this in the Manual http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/how_to_connect_your_equipment...

Re: Will Audacity run on a netbook?

Most netbooks that you can buy off the shelf will have Windows 7 (or 8) pre-installed. Netbooks and laptops tend to have slower processors and less RAM for the equivalent price than Desktops, but they start at lower prices than Desktops. It depends how much you want to pay. IMO, Linux (taken as a wh...

Re: Louder click track

I think I can make the clikc track louder in the text file. Can you explain what to change? Do you mean, by editing the clicktrack.ny file? If so, open clicktrack.ny in a text editor. Turn wordwrap off. Change the "amp" values in line 225. For example, if you change line 225 to this (setq...
