Can you give a simple explanation of what the helper application is trying to do? Is this a way of controlling settings of a family of Nyquist plug-ins, or providing loadable presets?

Does the helper file have to be kept together with the plug-ins it relates to?

Robert, I'll add your vote that you'd like Audacity to progress on releasing the mod-script-pipe scripting module (a number of people have asked for this now that http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Scripting is clearer about the feature) and also on releasing nyquist workbench. I'm not clear though ...

What exactly did you do when you "factory restored" the computer?

Did you reinstall the drivers of the sound device? This is normally necessary if you reinstall Windows - see here http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updat ... ce_Drivers .
