Re: How to convert file from reocrding screen to MP3

I just bought the Audacity recording system, and I'm wondernig how to transfer what I've recorded from the record into an MP3 file. The directions were very vague. Please note, Audacity only supplies the software program, and we do not write any documentation that may come with the recorder. Please...

Re: Audacity an Xubuntu Quantal 12.10

This is now confirmed as an Ubuntu bug affecting applications built with wxwidgets, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wxwidgets2.8/+bug/662077 . One way of fixing it is to open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get purge appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-qt A workaround is to CTRL + N to open...

To record incoming calls on Google Voice: http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?answer=115082 To record outgoing and incoming you could try: http://www.voiceemotion.com/ (not free) When you use Audacity to record, have you tried to unmute microphone playback and then record from stereo m...

Re: Audacity records at wrong clock rate

@Gale: Today, my recordings are consistently too slow by the 44.1/48 ratio, regardless of what speed the project is set to, be that 8, 48, or 96 kHz, so today I have to set a different track rate to work around the problem, at the cost of a wildly decreased speed of exporting to FLAC afterwards, as...

Re: Audacity records at wrong clock rate

Thanks, Per. Yes most likely the Flash player defaults to 44100 Hz. If you find using pavucontrol doesn't solve the problem permanently, please let us know. If pavucontrol is required to do on-the-fly resampling, I cannot understand why it is not installed by default, especially as one-rate-only dev...

Also Audacity itself only exports and reads a few WAV tags - see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata .

Re: How to cleanly and crisply repeat a section.

the one thing that I've not found a really convenient way of doing, is to jump from one end of a selected section to the other (without losing the selected region). Zooming in and out with the mouse wheel works well, but sometimes I think it would be useful to just be able to press a key to jump fr...
