Re: no multichannel recording after firewire board crash

Why don't you connect the firewire port properly? Have you restarted Audacity? Which audio program now sees the eight channels, but Audacity doesn't? Have you redownloaded and reinstalled the control software and driver ( http://www.presonus.com/uploads/products/1189/downloads/PreSonus-Universal-Con...

Re: Sound Effect "Telekinetic"

Hello I'm a bit unsure which forum is the right for this special question. I play currently the PC Franchise Red Alert and there is a character named "Yuri". As seen in the video I post below the sound artists added a yeah telekinetic sound effect in the background, the echoes the water s...

Re: Error Message 2

I had been working for weeks on an Audacity project. I saved it as late as Friday afternoon without incident. I went to call it up late Friday evening, and it opened with no data and no timeline. I just saw a blank grey screen, as if I just hit "file/new." Perplexed, I went to the locatio...

Re: Distortion effects

OK then that is two votes (including Steve's vote) for a shipped "tube distortion" suitable for voices and guitars. My vote is not specifically for "tube distortion" but rather a distortion effect that offers a range of creative possibilities (not just "clipping"). The...

Re: Unwanted muting of a stereo track. why?

A long message about how external audio info is missing, and 3 choices about whether I want to treat it as silence or, etc. etc. If you see that message, that is conclusive either that a file your project depends on is not on the place Audacity expects it to be in, or the drive it is on is failing ...

Re: How to cleanly and crisply repeat a section.

I think it's a weakness for more than just loops. Save/Restore Region or splitting the region. together with LEFT or RIGHT work fine if the region doesn't change. I guess you are asking for new View commands, "Center at Selection Left" and "Center at Selection Right" or similar? ...

iTunes, MediaMonkey and Tag&Rename
Are you sure iTunes supports metadata in WAV, Ed? It didn't used to I feel sure, but does in AIFF.

Re: Detecting occurences of a sound

Is this just for FFT window size and type? No. I experiment with all the settings, and I'm never confident I've got them back how they were when I'm done. I could, of course, just stick a bit of paper on the wall with some favourite settings written on it instead of bothering developers. Or you cou...

Re: Edit > Labelled Regions

But you joined the labels. What relevance is that? Why should that make a difference? Because the labels are touching, they affect each other, just like you argued that if a region touched a label, the label should be affected. I don't need a separate label and label track for the sentence. That's ...
