Re: Spinning wheel appears w/editing

You should definitely do what Koz says, but if that doesn't help I'm afraid you will have to try the suggestions I already gave. I cannot attach the audio because once it goes into spinning motion, there's nothing I can do with cursor. You can attach the file that you import into Audacity when Audaci...

Re: FFmpeg problems

The links Koz and Steve gave seem to be the same (and the correct link anyway is http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ). After reading the manual its says that the files are not necessarily the same names. That is so unprofessional as I had to load two diffe...

Re: recording waveform too small

As I say, MBox is made specifically for use with ProTools. Audacity doesn't explicitly support MBox. Is the Mbox 3 Mini later than OS X 10.6? I don't see any later Standalone drivers. I suggest you try http://www.avid.com/US/support/support-contact#audio . You could try looking in the Apple Sound Pr...

Re: Deleting a project

I can take votes for a "Project Manager" (reasonably user-proof) to manage "safe" deletion of projects (among other things). So that's 2 votes?

Re: How to recover a project???

If you never saved a project (AUP) then the problem with invalid token is in the "autosave" file. If you still have the 1.3 version open, the autosave file should still be there at: Documents and Settings<your user name>Application DataAudacityAutoSave . The file will have a project and ti...

Re: 2 instances of audacity simultaniously

Audacity doesn't have any obvious connection with Reaper, and Audacity often does not work well as an external editor because it does not open audio files directly but makes a copy of them (which you then have to export). Please check the operating system task monitor to make sure Audacity isn't run...

Re: Nyquist Noise Gate refuses to install on Mac

I downloaded the Nyquist Noise Gate plug-in from a link on the Audacity Wiki, and it came in to my Mac as a filetype ".ny". I tried to put it in my plug-ins folder in Audacity, but it refused to go in there. If I put it in my Applications folder, it agrees to settle into there, but nothin...

Re: No play through from USB turntable to ext. speakers

Using 10.6.8 Mac OS, Audacity 2.x from dmg. Using external computer speakers linked via the headset plug in back of computer. Ext. speakers work fine for iTunes. Am using a USB Turntable. Audacity preferences - "Divices" - Host: Core Audio, Playback Device - Built-in Output, Recording - B...

Re: Changing Inputs

Okay, thanks for that. I have the latest version of Audacity, and the only way I can get a stereo track is by recording onto channel 4 in mono, and then splitting it into stereo (which then uses channel 3) and deleting the first two channels. It seems onerous but I guess I will have to live with it...
