I would definitely try Audacity > Quit Audacity then reset audacity.cfg as per http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/pr ... tml#stored . The path to your Audacity temporary folder does not look like a normal default temporary directory to me.

Re: Cannot access manuals via Help
I did as you suggested. When I click on Quick Help or Manual, the hour glass appears for a split second then goes away and nothing no error messages even with Chrome already open. I can go into the folder and click on Quick Help or Index and the manual will open no problem. Almost seems as if it is...

Re: Lost all playback sound??
Do you have any sound in other programs, or is all the audio dead? Are you using external computer speakers, headphones or built-in speakers? Right-click the speaker icon by the system clock > Open Volume Mixer. Make sure the Audacity volume slider in Volume Mixer is turned up. Make sure the output ...

Re: Lost all playback sound??
I started a new topic for you. It's better to start a new topic even if the symptoms look similar. Do you mean that in other programs you can hear sound in both headphones or speakers, but not in Audacity? Are you choosing either the headphones or speakers as playback device in Device Toolbar ? Is t...

Re: Audio Cassette - Recording
I have a problem. I have everything hooked up, and I recorded a cassette (just one song to be sure everything was working correctly). Then I played it back with Audacity from the recording I'd made, and I ran into a couple of problems that I'm hoping someone out there can help me solve. 1) On playb...

Re: Two tracks to one
Ms Gale is there any remedy or techniques or least that I can do to just lessen the other voice and the other one should be heard more loudly and understandable? And vice versa? If there is, can you teach me? :) It's really hardly worth trying I'm afraid. For example if the recordings were stereo a...

Re: No Waveform, No Sound
Have you changed your Audacity temporary directory to somewhere you don't have permission to write to, or to a drive that is failing? Please check at Edit > Preferences: Directories. If changing the temporary directory does not help, can you please (after importing a file) click Help > Show Log... t...

Re: Set in & out points than can be converted into a selecti
1. Am I wrong that the [ & ] brackets can set an in/out point than can be converted into a selection? What I want to do is to delete that portion of the track without dragging the selection because there's a lot of conversation between the in/out points. Does this have anything to do with label...

Re: Cannot access manuals via Help
This is a zipped version of current Audacity with a Manual included, with a small change to the code that opens links: http://gaclrecords.org.uk/bugs/audacity-win-2.0.3-alpha_r12044_browser_open_patch.zip . Could you File > Exit Audacity, extract all the files from the zip to a new folder, and doubl...
