Re: Extend "Play one second"?
I moved this to "Adding Features". I find the "1" shortcut to "Play one second" very useful, but not quite long enough. Is there a way to extend it to, say, two seconds? Not without recompiling Audacity. Do you want to vote for this to be configurable in Playback prefer...

Re: Cannot access manuals via Help
I tried disabling my Virus program and my firewall on the XP PRO computer. No changes. OK, but please make sure those are enabled again. ;) I noticed a strange thing on my XP Home computer. When I click on Quick Help or Manual a window comes up to move the files, I cancel and it comes up again, I c...

Re: Edit Chains dialog does not work
It's perhaps a little unintuitive, but you have to double-click the item or select it then use Space in order to add it to the "Command" text box:

Re: Set in & out points than can be converted into a selecti
More on: "Actually, I had a revelation ... " that during recording, it might be simpler if I just used Ctrl + M to set a point label, because I'll have to adjust the edit points later in playback anyway. So the whole A/D key thing might just be an exercise in futility? It depends w...

Re: Edit > Labelled Regions
Thanks for being motivated enough to make a patch, however even if there are more use cases for the behaviour you like than current behaviour (I suspect there could be), it doesn't change the fact that it introduces a regression for people who like it as it is. I don't see why removing the trim of s...

Re: MetaData Missing from WAV files
Are you sure iTunes supports metadata in WAV, Ed? It didn't used to I feel sure, but does in AIFF. I did test iTunes before I made the post as I rarely use it. I have absolutely no idea how any of these three programs are actually accomplishing this. Just to confirm the latest version of iTunes sti...

Re: Set in & out points than can be converted into a selecti
I was thinking about maybe something arranged around the S key. FWIW, here's was the idea, but only the A & D would have much value to me at this point. A = set left IN point. D = set right OUT point. S, W, Z, X = to be defined. These would allow everything to be done with just the left hand wi...

Re: Shifting all labels to the right
Shifting the labels right on inserting audio actually worked in 1.2.6 as long as you selected in the audio track as well. It should do that in current Audacity. Do you mean without sync-lock? I couldn't make it work. The audio moves along but the labels don't. I mean it's a regression that it no lo...

And also when exporting, choose "Other uncompressed files", click "Options" then choose "WAV" and "8-bit PCM" (or U-Law or A-Law which are also 8-bit). The exporter defaults to 16-bit WAV if you don't change it.
