Re: 2 live together?
I've written at the same time as Koz, so I've left in the unique parts in my answer. I have 1.2.6 installed on Windows XP (32bit) and several large files with which I am still working. Installed 2.0.0 on an old computer running Win98 and tried transferring a file. Audacity warned me that it might no...

Re: Audio feedback problems
Thanks, switching that off worked great. My problem was the turntable instructions explictly said to make sure it was on. If you mean Software Playthrough, it needs to be on if you want to hear playback through the computer while you are recording. Unless this is a known issue with HYPE turntables,...

Re: Phantom startup message: Revalver[SOLVED]
Of course, the question that remains is why on earth did neither of these things register when I did a system search for "ReValver" and "Peavey"? But that's for another forum. It's confusing. When I searched for my LADSPA plug-ins installed on OS X 10.8 in /Library/Audio/Plug-In...

Re: Phantom startup message: Revalver
I would assume you trashed the support files for the plug-in but not the plug-in. See this link: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effect_menu.html#VST_Effects . That explains where the plug-in might be, according to whether it is an Audio Unit or VST plug-in. In other words if it is an Audio Uni...
Re: Bit Rate
Thanks for the response, especially on a Saturday! The problem is that I don't have Audacity 2.x or above. I have Audacity 1.2.5, I believe. I don't have an "options" button nor do I have the option to save the file as anything other than a WAV. I cannot even export to mp3. (I use the pro...

Re: Listing all my Music
You don't. Audacity has no support for metadata lookup. Do you want to vote for that? It may not be simple, because some of the developers think there are security implications in Audacity accepting incoming data from the internet.Dave50 wrote:How do I put Gracenote onto Audacity?

Re: Having Troubles Recording Audio
You want to choose stereo mix to record computer playback. Do you have the input and output volume turned up? Are you playing the YouTube audio through the Speakers (RealteK High Definition Audio) device? You can't use Realtek stereo mix to record from the USB speakers - that's a different playback ...

Re: Input Device dropdown list doesn't make sense
Sorry you received no reply yet, but there are many questions packed in there. Although I have Ubuntu 12.04 for testing I am not a Linux expert (in fact on that version of Ubuntu, audio does not always do what it is supposed to for me). So I am only starting the ball rolling in a cursory fashion. I ...
