Re: Amplify

I failed again by not realizing to relate that I am starting the recording of the tapes onto Audacity, hitting the stop button, bringing up the Effects dropdown and clicking on Amplify. Then I adjust the amplify level to the attenuation that I need, and start the recording of the tapes onto Audacit...

Re: Deleting Clipped Audio

Just to add to Steve's and Koz's points... If it's your recording, it would be far better to turn the input down to a more reasonable level (or ensure you plug into the correct input or record with an appropriate device. I assume image 2 is after deamplifying, and it looks very flat-topped. How exac...

Re: Soft Limiter Plug-in

Thank you so much!! That all worked perfectly. Unbelievable. I cannot believe that I can salvage the project. Thank you, thank you!! Here's the next issue - I'm trying to install the soft limiter plug-in, but I cannot paste it into the plug-in folder of Audacity 2.0.2. I have it in the "downlo...

Re: Best way to move some labels to another label track

Actually the behaviour has been the same since at least 1.3.14, but it looks a bit weird since the option for "Retain Labels if selection snaps to a selection edge" was introduced. Turning off the option: "Edit > Preferences > Interface > "Retain Labels if selection snaps to a s...

Re: Auacity won't record my microphone only my speakers?! He

No I don't think I need them. How would I go about removing them? Or do I just disable them? You could simply right-click over all the apowersoft devices in Windows "Sound" to disable them,, restart Audacity and see if it helped. Or if you want to uninstall it go to the Windows Control Pa...

Re: problem loading eq

thank you! it worked oh so beautifully. Good :) Assuming the "EQCurves.xml" file was the problem, are you able to attach that? Audacity shouldn't crash because of an error in the file, so if possible we'd like to fix it. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 for...

Re: Auacity won't record my microphone only my speakers?! He

I would get rid of that "apowersoft" device. It's messed up other users here. If your Realtek stereo mix is working, do you need "apowersoft"?

Re: Harmonic Enhancer

Latest version is available on the wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Harmonic_Enhancer Thanks, Jvo and Steve. I really thought some more help with the controls was needed, as this may be a popular effect. Please check what I added, based on Jvo's original notes. Would ...

Re: No play through from USB turntable to ext. speakers

You want to buy a stereo RCA to stereo 1/8 inch adaptor like this: http://tinyurl.com/clfa4pm . This assumes your Mac has an audio input (USB input is no use for this solution). The turntable should have a phono / line switch. Set it to line if you connect the RCA cables to the computer this way. Gale
