Mid Fade Adjust > 0 produce curves that have greater gain than a linear fade mid way through the duration of the fade. Mid Fade Adjust < 0 produce curves that have less gain than a linear fade mid way through the duration of the fade. For fades between unity gain and silence: Mid Fade Adjust = 50 w...

Re: Line in keeps muting

Doesn't Transport > Software Playthrough (on/off) in Audacity work? The reproduction is not as fast as unmuting line-in in playback, but it usually works. Unmuting playback may possibly not work on later sound cards. That is why Windows Vista and later brought in "Listen" which is software...

Re: Audacity won't open - keeps crashing

Go > Go to Folder (as given in my first link http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audio_Units#Slow_launch_or_hang ) "should" open the user library, even if it is hidden. The crash report you attached shows in the thread that crashed (Thread 0) that Harmonic Maximizer was the problem: Thread 0...

Re: Latence: problème de décalage entre les pistes

Have you read the Recording FAQ's:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording/fr

If you are getting dropouts and that is the reason for the lack of synchronisation, read these tips (it is a machine translation only):

Looks like this will do the trick.
Good, thanks.

When I said "separating tracks during recording" is a "feature request", that meant that Audacity doesn't do that.

Re: Converting a wav file to 20-bit depth

Are you writing to wave-format-extensible (WAVEX header)?

If you are still stuck, it may be better to write here:
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sox-users .

What is the purpose of the 20-bit file?

Re: Musical Fade-In effect

I agree "fixing" pro-fade.cfg so it goes in the Audacity presets folder is secondary. The benefit I see from having Nyquist plug-in .cfg files in the Audacity presets is that they may be less likely to be deleted accidentally. I assume there is no reason the Windows Audacity installer and ...

Re: Adjustable Fade

I think that the current version is very close to a balanced compromise in that it offers a good amount of flexibility/functionality, has some sliders and presets I agree, though we must decide about the presets and positive/negative behaviour of the sliders. I set out the tradeoffs as I understand...

Re: Audacity won't open - keeps crashing

Audacity is crashing while attempting to load the BBESound Harmonic Maximizer AU plug-in. You can go the route of the previous post and disable AU plug-ins in Audacity, or you can remove the Harmonic Maximizer from your system plug-ins folders. Audio Unit effects are stored in the following locatio...
