Re: Win7: MME /vs/ Windows DirectSound?
Gale- "Are you asking for the Audacity meters to represent audio above 0 dB? " If that's physically possible that would be one way to make it happen. Or if not can I: 1-make a recording, note the highest volume is maybe 0.8, 2-and then increase my input level from whatever it is by an add...

Re: No playback volume
To begin with look in Device Toolbar and select for "Output Device" the exact device you have your speakers or headphones plugged into. Is the problem that you cannot hear what you are recording while you are recording it, or you cannot hear what you have recorded when you stop recording a...

Re: Voices are not recorded properly
I doubt you want to disable the speakers if they are built in speakers - how will you hear what you want to record? If you are sure you are following the Tutorial exactly ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html ) then try disabling sound effects an...

Re: Win7: MME /vs/ Windows DirectSound?
Two "microphone" items are listed. One for the Soundmax integrated digital HD audio, the other saying "USB Audio CODEC" so again, I don't think either one is referring to the Behringer as hardware so much as they are referring to the audio path in Win7. One using the native USB ...

Re: Peak Limiter
Amplify will result in clipping at 0 dB. Can you explain that? That makes it sound like our documentation is incorrect. 32 bit float format: If you amplify a signal to a peak level of +3dB, then the sound card should handle everything below 0 dB well (no noticeable distortion). The sound card is in...

Re: no input sound
Thanks for all the details. Are you connecting the turntable to an empty USB port? The turntable should not be connected to a USB hub. In Windows "Sound", "Recording" tab you can also right-click over the USB turntable > Properties, then on the "Listen" tab, check the b...
