Re: Missing files
I looked for the 'Audacity Projects' file but found an 'Audacity' file instead. Some of the missing files are there but they seem to be all chopped up into 4 or 6 second pieces. Sorry to be so thick but I don't understand what is going on. Are the complete projects to be found elsewhere on the HD? ...

Re: stereo STEREO
Thanks Gale, I thought I had Audacity 2.x but apparently not I suggest you check your version at Help > About Audacity. If you don't have the latest 2.0.2, please download it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Now my only problem is the recording distorting because of the high input l...

Re: System sound crashes on Audacity start
OK sorry it did not work out. I made a note but I don't recall any previous occurrences of this exact issue (loss of system sound). Unfortunately the developer who implemented these Audio IO changes for 1.3.13 is no longer active in the project, but if he becomes so I will point him to this topic. G...

Re: Missing files
As I guessed, you've been opening MP3 files from the internet in Audacity. The other projects (the AUP file which you open and the _data folder that goes with the AUP) will be on the hard drive. It's just the links to them in Recent Files that have been overwritten. If you usually save AUP's in your...

Re: Unable to get audacity to recognize mic
My snowball requires mono recording instead of stereo. Does it explicitly give "error opening sound device" if you set Audacity recording channels to stereo? In that case it might be worth noting that in the Frequently Asked Question as a possible explanation. That said, a glance at the A...

Re: stereo STEREO
Check what input you are recording from in Device Toolbar. Choose USB Audio Codec or similar. If you are recording from stereo mix (computer playback) or the internal microphone it may cause this problem.

Re: Audicity crashes on startup in OSX10.8 Mt Lion
Thanks for the report. I suggest you move Orange Vocoder out of /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/FM8.component/Contents/MacOS/FM8 . Other software that uses it may need to be informed. Alternatively you can disable all Audio Unit support in Audacity. See here for how to do that http://wiki.audacit...

Re: Two tracks to one
Then what should now after having the new version. How can minimize the other voice? Please read my previous post . I think you will be wasting your time and ours by posting a sample of the audio you want to disentangle, but if you want to post it, feel free. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewt...

Re: Recording telephone conversations
I want to do something similar, i.e. record a voip conversation preferably with MicroSIP http://microsip.org.ua/ or alternatively with Skype. A few attempts with Audacity 2.0.2 have shown the same problem as experienced by Kimmi D: " it records both sides of the conversation, but the incoming ...

Re: Recording telephone conversations
I would like to know if you are able to set Audacity up to automatically record when the phone is answered. My husband is disabled and suffers from short term memory loss and is unable to remember to turn it on, etc. He also forgets the phone conversations (which sometimes are important) or the det...
